Visited Amboli during these Diwali holidays on Oct. 21 & 22, on way to Tarkarli. It's a small, very peaceful, calm hill station in South Maharashtra and not at all crowded, must say. It was still surrounded by Greens all around. Some beautful points worth visiting are - Mahadevgad Point, Kavlesad Point, Hiranyakeshi Temple, Sunset Point, Rajwada and Amboli Waterfalls.... More

This is the wettest place in Maharashtra and one of the wettest places in India. It is really green and soothing to the eyes. Luckily, the place is still relatively unspoilt and one can enjoy walks to Parikshit Point, Mahadevgad Point, Shirgaonkar Point though I did not go to Parikshit this time (Oct. 2014) because it was still raining and... Amboli, situated on the ghats , is situated ideally at the edge of Maharashtra and is frequented as a picnic spot on the hills from Karnataka as well. The beauty of the dense rainforest cannot be missed, a few days there refreshes you beyond expectation. Walk the tracks, view the various natural waterfalls and all the vegetation. The time we... Amboli, located 70 kms from Belgaum is a place to just chill out during the monsoons. It's a small town with few options to stay. We stayed at JRD resorts- it's on the main road to Sawantvadi. Nothing great about the resort- average rooms but had clean beds and toilets. During the monsoons, Amboli gets covered in mist when it... More

Amboli is a hill station lies in the Sahayadri Hills of Western India, one of the world's "Eco Hot-Spots" on source of the Hiranyakeshi river. The main attraction for tourists is the incredibly high rainfall and the numerous waterfalls and mist during the monsoons. Driving Directions from Pune-Kolhapur: NH 4 till Sankeshwar, then Gadhinglaj-Ajara-Amboli. Pune- Kolhapur- Kagal- Nipani-Gadhinglaj Rd(Take right... More
