Went to Goa from Pune. Amboli was on the way. Came back from the trip. Enjoyed a magnificent waterfall near amboli. Now people haunt us to stay amboli during rainy season and be in the clouds. There is a chap whom I know who goes to amboli during rainy seasons every year. For a day or two. So God willing,... More

Amboli is a typical maharashtrian hill station. Calm, cool and peaceful it is...atleast thats the point you would realize once you reach there. Stay options are limited and there is also not much to do or visit. A night stay if sight seeing or a couple of nights for serenity is the most that can be recommended. Did not stay... More

It is nice place for one day stay, especially if you had entering or leaving Goa/ Kokan region and travelling through Amboli Ghat. All the points are already described in earlier reviews. As a food lover, I would recommend Narvekar mess in market. It provides very good food (both veg/non-veg). Do visit. Overall good hill station.

Amboli Hill staton @ altitude of 690 m lies in the Sahayadri Hills. One of the important place in the history of India. I have visited this place many times. Historically Amboli has its own importance. Its lies on Vengurla - Belgaum Highway which was used by British for Communication and business. Amboli is well connected by Road. You can... More

Unlike most visitors to Amboli, we did not treat it as a halfway stop to Goa. We came to stay and see and take in Amboli. We had heard of its thick jungles but walking by them was a different experience altogether. The mist made everything look so mysterious. It was beautiful to just watch it descend and hen lift... Amboli is a sheepish village on way to Goa from Sankeshwar in Karnataka. The drive to Amboli was mixed with the excellent, good and bad stretch of highways.Once we reached Amboli, 90 km from Sankeshwar (NH 4) we were in for a surprise. The village was very quite with one main road and couple of hotels. There is a petrol... More

We visited Amboli during the second week of August '13 i.e. 09th to 11th. We travelled by Sawantwadi Express and managed to reach before time. (During Monsoon, train is given an additional hour for journey). It was a wonderful experience travelling in Konkan region. We reached Sawantwadi Road at around 11 hours and from there engaged a share rickshaw which... More

Visited Amboli with family on 23rd July 2013. The travel route was Pune->Kolhapur->Sankeshwar on the NH4 (Pune-Bangalore Highway) and took a right turn under the flyover at Sankeshwar (took a left turn at Sai Hotel just before the Sankeshwar bridge and a right turn under the bridge towards Gadhinglaj). The route is Sankeshwar->Gadhinglaj->Ajra->Amboli (70 kms from Sankeshwar). Sawantwadi is 30... More
