I drove to Amboli ghat from SawantWadi. This was for my driving experience and family vacation. I found it is a really good place. Sunset point is amazing. Kanda bhajji is a spoiler. Mostly nature friendly, my kids enjoyed ghats and watch monkeys. M.T.D.C hotel is also near. I would suggest go by your own vehicle to enjoy this trip.

There are several places of interest in and around amboli. The place is famous for its ecosystem and if possible get a guide from the hotel you are staying in amboli and explore the area for birds and amphibians. The ghat section starts only 3-4 kms after the amboli police station if you are heading towards Sawantwadi. The sunset point,... More

Amboli ghat is about 30 km from savantwadi town. Its a must drive down during moonsoon season. Stop by near the falls for fresh vada pav, kanda bhaji and tea. The water levels in the falls was really low in December 2015. But it gave a beautiful sunset view.

Easy to see why it is so popular. It is near Sawantwadi, about 30 kms from the town and 40 kms from the railway station, and is practically next to Goa. It is on the Belgaum-Sawantwadi road and hence is very accessible. It is at a height of about 2500 feet (about Matheran). It offers sights of vast green plains... More

A quaint little hill station with only a few attractions (touristy points). Good for a relaxing weekend - nice cool weather. Excellent local food options. Because of the shortfall in the rains, the famous waterfall didn't seem good enough.

Amboli ghat has many small waterfalls. The one big waterfall has well built stairs and is a good place to visit during monsoons. The road ride offers amazing view of the hills and valley.
