Just 60 Kms from Belgaum, Amboli is a lovely hill station at the top of the mountain range. Lots of greenery, very cold in the winter season, and very very very rainy during the monsoons. I love visiting here during the rains, since all the waterfalls are gushing with water. Accommodation is limited here, small hotels, but relatively clean. Best/Only... More

Had been to Amboli in 2nd week of August, 2014. We used our car for commuting. The drive from Pune to Amboli took around 7.5 hours with a few stoppages. The place is awesome with lust green forest, scenic valleys, amazing waterfalls, clouds all around and heavy rainfall. We stayed at JRD International. It is a big but poorly maintained... More

Amboli is just 60 kms from Belgaum (my hometown). it is a small village on the top of the sayadhari range and being on the important route that connects konkan to the other side of the mountains is a important. It's the route British built and was used to attack Portuguese. The Ghat that winds down the mountains is 16... More

Being in Goa, to experience monsoon took a twist when we heard about Amboli. We departed from Goa in the morning to Amboli, Via Sawantwadi. The road up hill started to become vibrant, as mist and fog along with drizzling started. There are many a waterfalls enroute, and the Amboli falls was in its majestic might. One should not miss... This lovely micro hill station has lot more to offer than the sunset point and the famous waterfall. One can find Sambhars in the local forest park itself. Just two kms from the city center, one can spot bisons. Bird watchers have plenty to spot ranging from bulbuls, sunbirds, grey hornbills to water birds. Lot of predators including leopards also... Visited Amboli during these Diwali holidays on Oct. 21 & 22, on way to Tarkarli. It's a small, very peaceful, calm hill station in South Maharashtra and not at all crowded, must say. It was still surrounded by Greens all around. Some beautful points worth visiting are - Mahadevgad Point, Kavlesad Point, Hiranyakeshi Temple, Sunset Point, Rajwada and Amboli Waterfalls.... More
