Bhandardara undoubtedly is the best weekend escape from Mumbai. The drive from Mumbai to Bhandardara is breathtaking with splendid views and lakes. Still unexplored, it's a very beautiful place surrounded by mountains and lakes. Lake Arthur is so serene and a boat ride will just make the trip even more amazing! Negatives- Unfortunately, there is only one accommodation option available,... More

Bhandhardhara is a beautiful place surrounded by Mountains and lakes. You'll find beauty everywhere you look. It's a very short drive from Mumbai and you'll reach there in about 2 to 3 hours depending on the speed you drive and the breaks you take. You can stay at the MTDC resort over here which is nice an located at a... More

Use Google for info on Bhandardara and Google Maps to get here. Pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon this place is PARADISE !!! This was my second trip to Bhandardara followed by a trek to Mount Kalsubai, the highest peak in the state of Maharashtra (will be posting a separate review for that) and I am going to come back here again... Peaceful place, its great for camping, quite safe and less commercialized. The route to Bhandardara is beautiful with the Sahyadri ranges, Kalsubai the highest peak in Maharastra and Alang-Madan-Kulang peaks. There's a dam and Arthur lake, which is really a serene location in picturesque settings. There's boating as well, and its great taking a dip in the cold waters in... More

Having spent some years in the mountains of the North and recently been seduced by the Blue Mountains of the South, the hills of the West deserve a redefinition. Most of them leave one spellbound...in the monsoons and save for that, they're brown and threadbare. The temps were mainly in the range of 15-20 C but the lungs get a good dose of... More

On our way back from Nashik to mumbai we decided to visit the much talked about attraction Bhandardara. Since we left early in the morning we had ample of time to stop on our way back. Was not sure about the exact route but the mobile navigation helped and the directions on the road were decent. This was in addition... More
