I drove to Bhandaradara Dam with my wife from Mumbai. The drive via Igatpuri was breathtaking and we literally drove through the clouds. Best part of the drive was that the roads were awesome (except for a few bad stretches). You enter the Dam from one side (via Yash Resorts),where the reception was nice enough to hand us a free... I visited Bhandardara last weekend with my family and stayed at MTDC Resort. The place is a delight for hill station lovers and is at a 4 hours drive from Pune. It took us around 5 hours to explore the whole area around Bhandardara. Took a guide for Rs 300 and i must say he was very cordial and well... More

While having tea at a tapri a man over heard us talking and came up and suggested some places to visit near by. Bhandardara was one of them. We had randomly selected this place and reached here within no time. Oh... More

The lush green rice fields, mountain with fog crown, crystal clear water falls is something that has left me mesmerized. You really wish you have a SUV when you drive on those roads. Locals don't really interact much. They seem to maintain distance. There are not many accommodation options. We stayed at MTDC and the room and food was strictly... More

We were a group of ten people who visited Bhandardara and Kaas Plateau as part of a trip organized by Delhi-based, WAFT (Wildlife and Forest Travel Group) from 27 August to 1 September 2013. This holiday resort is nestled in the Sahyadri range of Western Ghats and is about 4 hours drive from Mumbai. As someone in our group pointed... More

Went there on 27th July 2013. The drive from Mumbai upto Ghoti is great and the road deteriorates there after. It is strictly a monsoon destination. The roads have been damaged by rain and the last 15 - 20 kms are in a bad shape. The place is serene and beautiful and crowed like Lonavala. The Wilson dam was not... More
