Went to this place from Mumbai in a cab. It was an undiscovered gem in the middle of nowhere. Obviously the time to go is the monsoons when there is lush greenery and countless waterfalls dotted around the ghats. We trekked up the highest peak of Maharashtra (Mt Kalsubai) and it was an out of the world experience as we... More

This place is heaven in Maharashtra for bikers. I've been to Lonavala, Malshej Ghat, Matheran and few other places on bike but the drive to Bhandardara was never before experience. The best part is that for almost 120Km you need to drive straight on Mumbai Nashik Expressway and then with just one right turn your journey of "actual" bandardara begins.... More

Hello Friends, Lets go step by step. ABOUT AND WHEN TO VISIT As its name indicates "Bhandardara" , its "Dhara"(Soil) is a "Bhandar" of greenery and water. Plus it has very pleasant atmosphere. We went here on 2nd to 5th October and though this was not the ideal time to visit this place, we can say we had enjoyed our... More

Samrad village is a place where you can reach by car. Then you have to trek it. Please keep in mind following things. 1) No commercial place like Hotels are there. 2)... More

When it comes to monsoon drives, Bhandardara is definitely one of my favorites. The 162 km drive from Pune to Bhandardara is absolutely enthralling with lush green fields, water bodies and waterfalls all along the route. As you approach Bhandardara, you can spot the Wilson Dam from a distance. The beautiful Arthur Lake and the Dam are the main attractions... More

AS usual, 3 of us along with our family visited Bhandardhara from 5th of September 2014 to 7th of September 2014. I ha been to Bhandardhara once before in the year 2000. That time there was only one resort and that was MTDC. This time around we stayed at Anandvan Resort which is bang opposite MTDC resort. I must say,... More

Important thing first... if you are staying in Maharashtra, add this place to your 'must visit place during monsoon' list. For last few years I was always planning to visit Bhandardara in monsoon but it never materialized. Finally, this year I could get a booking in MTDC resort and I could visit this one of the most beautiful places in... More
