We visited this temple early morning when the sun light was slowly illuminating the beautifully carved temple and the statue of Vamana. I think pictures speak louder than words so I would post a few pics so you can view the grandeur of this temple, located in the eastern group of temples.

Dedicated to the Vamana avatar of Vishnu, this temple is away from the main complex. It has an vertical ascent similar to that of the Javari and sculpture equally rich in detail.

Located in the eastern group of jain temples this small masterfully craved materpiece proves that bigger is not always better. When visiting the eastern group it is best to go early to avoid the crowds of tour buses and beat the heat.

Like Javari, this is an interesting temple in the eastern group. It is worth seeing but you may have to endure persistent touts who are impossible to shake off no matter how polite or rude you are. We were followed by a young man called Deepak for hours. If you want to avoid the hassle just visit the western group... More

One of the major relics of the Chandela dynasty, the fascinating Vamana Temple is a beautiful shrine built in the Eastern complex of Khajuraho. It is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Vishnu’s dwarfed and chubby incarnation, Lord Vamana. The exterior walls of the temple are adorned with intricate sculptures of apsaras and celestial nymphs in sensuous postures. Other carvings that... More
