A touristy beach next to the Varkala cliff. It attracts too many people at most times. Reaching here is easy via autos but they fleece tourists most times.

its happening. its chic. its a very non-indian stretch of India in Kerala. Awesome food. Some days live music at some places. the cliff walk is intriguing.

Our first visit to Varkala, and its a lovely small town. The restaurants on the Cliff, and the beach are really amazing. Beautiful and relaxing.

I was in Varkala in September for 2 days. We had no clue/info abt the beach. A local frnd suggested and we took a train from Kochi to Varkala. This 4 hr journey led to the cleanest beach i hv ever been to in India (PS: Am yet to see Andamans) Clean water, hilltop shacks, decently priced food and low... More

Awesome place for a 3-4 day stay. Clean beach and beautiful sunset not to be missed. Pleasant sea breeze and excellent walk on the cliff with loads of shopping and restaurant.

So we had no clue that this beach existed until someone told us of this Candle Light experience that is worth a take. So we went for it, and since it was my wife's birthday, I wondered why not. Varkala was the last leg of my trip through we were quite flustered and not too pumped (just another beach). But... More

Kovalam Beach is a beautiful beach seaside, swimming even if the waves can be impressive. Sunbathers

the beach is a little dicey as the out of season high tides have eaten away at it below the cliffs, but at the 'papanasam' (sin-destroying) beach it is still pretty good. the ancient (2000 year old) janardhana swamy temple and the nearby beach have seen sacrifices for ancestors (bali) for centuries. tourism is more recent. it's easier to get... A good beach, not so crowded.. Much cleaner than a lot of beaches in our country.. We visited the beach at the south cliff. The beach at the north cliff was practically absent as the waters hadn't receded as yet post the monsoons..
