Varkala is endowed with natural scenic beauty and its most striking, compelling and unique feature of Varkala is the cliff adjoining the beach. The formation of the cliff is unique and is in the shape of a 180 degree diameter to a circle.Pedestrian pathway, lounges, hotel, and shops dot the circumference of the cliff. The pathway and restaurants adjoining the... More

This place also have some spiritual significance where it's believed that you could help your loved ones to reach heaven by dropping down their ashes after cremation. Keeping this apart. .It's one among world's top 10 cleanest beach across world. A must visit place in kerala and less commercialized one.

Its an awesome location for night outs in Kerala with numerous shacks serves drinks / beer and nice sea foods, etc on the cliff. During season night life never ends, but in off season, most of the shops shall be closed by 11.00PM. View of the cliff is breath taking.

My husband and I spent 10 days in Varkarla, unfortunately he was not very well for most of the time and every morning I walked along the beach and back on my own but felt very safe, there were lots of locals especially on Sunday and they were really friendly. The left hand top end of the beach was mainly... More

No words to explain the natural beauty. It is the same Arabian sea, same waves but i feel something better than goa's beach. Cliff view makes a difference. Please be here for sun set. But one thing which i noticed was, locals are not that honest. Best is to have a local friend, he will protect you from greedy auto... More

I actually came here several times in sep-nov 2012. Varkala beach is a really relaxing place, the beach itself is full of locals and westerners alike. The water can be very harsh at certain times of year , so you should be wary if you are a weaker swimmer. The usual lot of leering men stare at you even if... More

A peaceful and beautiful beach. You can see foreigners as well as locals at the beach. People are really warm and happy. The sea food is delicious. There are no disturbance creating people around which is common at other places.
