Words can't express how wonderful my time was at Shiva Gardens. I arrived intending to stay for 3 days at the beginning of March 2015 and stayed for 7 weeks! The place has a beautiful atmosphere, the hosts and staff are amazing and made me feel at home, looked after me when I was ill and always had a big... More

I visited Shiva Garden for 2 nights in March 2015 and, as the other reviewers have said, it was lovely. Pros: -Really nice energy in the garden -Friendly guests and a welcoming common area (with wifi) -The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a room we liked and felt comfortable during our stay -Walking distance to... A young Dr Kamaraj calls himself a "healer" and not a businessman. However, he managed to be in charge of organising our yoga retreat for 30+ people coming from London. Upon receiving the info about the retreat, we booked a cheapest standard room for £60 (for 2 people) per night. Paying £60 per night in India, we were expecting an... More

Excellent masseur. However very disappointing in how Kamaraj dealt with our group of yogis, managing our accommodation off site from our retreat. We were severely overcharged for rooms that were basic to say the least, and after promising to reimburse us for the overcharge, Kamaraj went back on his words and became quite aggressive. Behaviour that was wholly un-yogic. A... More

I went to India for yoga teaching course. My teacher was Omji Santhosh. It was great, unforgettable experience. Omji has his own school in South India (Varkala, Kerala). Hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation....it was so good that i dont know how to express my feelings. I got new understanding of myself. My life was changed completely. Now I do enjoy every... More

Really enjoyed my first week ever of yoga lessons here. Everything was clearly explained and there was never and pressure to do anything I wasn't cable of, in fact we were told to do everything at our own pace and capabilities. Everything was explained several times during the seven days so that I finally understood the basics. The lessons also... More

Vasudev gives yoga lessons every day at 8 am for intermediate to experienced people and a beginners class at 10 am. I went to the 8 am class and was very pleased with the array of asanas that we did and the inversions. A very peaceful and clean studio in gardens set back from the clifftop so very quiet. Good... I did Vasudev's beginners course in February and loved it. I have done yoga before but not for a while and this class re-inspired me. The pace of the class is just right and Vasudev's teaching style is reassuring and encouraging. By the end of the week I felt like a real pro and joined the regular class for a... More

Took a beginners course after watching a class perform in unison to Vasudev's very clear and concise instructions. He is a good teacher who clearly shows how to perform the asanas and the potential mistakes newcomers may make. The pace is quick, but not impossible. I am 61 years old with minimal daily exercise and a little overweight. I completed... More

Walking into Vasudev's yoga shala early in the morning before the cliff wakes up is magical. Tall coconut palms and banana trees surround the beautiful, large, open shala. Vasudev's calm presence and warm smile greet you as you arrive, and the peaceful atmosphere speaks of silence and relaxation. As you lay down to wait for the class to start, your... More
