The journey towards Kaapil is refreshing and you will be forced to stop and take pictures every 10 steps! Thats how stunning the place is! There are no shops or eateries around so it is best... Deserted place but extremely beautiful. The lake on one side and the sea on the other. Definitely worth a visit. However it's very hot and no real shade nearby so please pack some caps.

this is the best beach to have your privacy. Close to Varkala Beach and yet soooo clean, empty and peaceful.

Beautiful experience...the 1 hour boat ride (cost Rs.1200/-) was awesome. Loved the tranquility, the freshness, the coconut trees, everthing...you must, must go for the boat ride if you are in Varkala.
