Stayed here with a friend for 4 nights on their "yoga vacation" program. Wonderful experience, 4 hours of asana every day, enjoyed the chanting and meditation at morning and evening satsang, unfortunately the 2pm lectures/conversations were awful, karma yoga was enjoyable and varied, and it's fun to take a break and hang out at the health hut. Meals were yummy.... More

I went to this place expecting to get a good, basic intro to asana practice, and I got it. Other good things about this place: it's a great opportunity to meet travelers from everywhere, and the price that they ask for the accommodation and instruction is very reasonable. Now for the stuff that isn't so great. Let me be the... More

I regrettably only stayed a week at the ashram, but will certainly return and left wishing I was there for longer. It's very hard to explain the impact of the experience to anyone that hasn't attended, but it's an incredible journey. I made some wonderful friends, came away feeling totally refreshed and happy. If you're prepared to commit to the... More

I have been trying to get confirmation for two weeks for my teacher training at Madurai no one answers the phone. in Madurai and India head office. I am going to have to turn up without confirmation. Also emailed Canada about very poor service. This is the danger of online registrations. I thought this was a professional place.

Really nice stay. This wonderful ashram is for those wanting to experience classical yoga techniques. The teachings of swami sivananda and swami vishnudevananda include proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet, positive thinking and meditation, but for me it was the karma yoga (e.g. setting up the dining hall at dinnertime) & bhakti yoga (attending daily puja at the... It was nice experience. First I was very surprised because the place is organized very much and nice view in the nature surrounding. Stayed in the dome, where was not cozy much but after started the course, everybody could talk each other verb different language. Of cause not perfect. Food an water for drinking were safety. There is not resort,... More

Really nice stay. The ashram rules makes it easier for you to don't skip classes and so on, and is really good for your mental training. Stayed for 14 days, and found it a lot easier to practice yoga several times a week when I got back home. A kick starter for yoga routine! Food was great, clean beds, beautiful... More

The first two, three days is quite hard, but after the initial tiredness you really start feeling the benefits of the Ashram. The lectures might seem boring to start with but they get you thinking after a while, the Yoga might seem mundane but for me with my Slipped disc, it worked wonders, my core stability and back muscle tone... I went to the Ashram in Trivandrum last November 2013 with a friend of mine. It was an a really special and difficult travel for us as we found out that we were pregnant just a few days before leaving Europe. Still, we had strong reasons to carry on with our travel to India and to experience an Ashram life.... More

I went to the ashram to attend a two week introduction to ayurveda and massage. Despite being informed in writing that there wasn't a uniform, we had to go up on stage and be blessed, and be given our pack- including reading materials, pad to write up homework and a uniform. Whilst this isn't a problem in itself, I didn't... More
