We had to wait for a long time for the elephant ride. The wait was fruitful as we had a very good experience with the elephant ride. The ride was around 20-30 mins but was fun.

I think there are 2 different places offering elephant rides at Thekkady - one is the famed Elephant Junction and the other, the lesser known "Elephant Camp" at Anavachal Road. Partly because I had read some negative reviews on Internet and partly because my cab driver warned me of the rush I decided not to go to Elephant Junction and... More

I walked in and instantly wanted to leave..I don't know what I was expecting, but It was a long queue to sit on an Elephant and have it walk around in a circle. After being refused a refund we got on the Elephant and had a 20min walk...in spite of myself I actually enjoyed it and it was amazing to... More

I was feeling unsure whereas I really wanted to encourage such practices. We hear so many things about this kind of activities whereas it comes to riding horses, camels or elephants... I am a rider, horse rider, so I really have high expectations about animals caring and my experience at Elephant Junction positively surprised me! The home stay where I... More

The visit included an elephant ride, bathing the elephant and feeding the elephant. Had to pay an entrance fee. We declined the elephant ride as we had been on elephant rides before. We watched the bathing of the elephant. There is a chance for you to get into the pool with the elephant and scrub its sides! You then had... More

Lovely to see the Elephants, still feel a little guilt ridden at their circumstances and playing a part in it.

We had great fun here. Children, and wife loved dressing up in traditional costumes. Place is a bit run down. Elephants seemed well cared for. Could have been some education included.

This place is quite inside the main roads. The place has ample parking inside and there are predominantly foreigners thronging to the place. They have various packages starting with Rs. 400 for elephant ride per person (30 minutes) to doing more stuff such as bathing the elephant, watching them pick logs and perhaps longer rides as well. The elephants are... More
