I visited this beach after a few year. It has historical significance. There is a small monument commemorates the landing by Vasco da Gama, The beach is very calm with a stretch of rocks projecting into the sea. The beach is serene and pleasant. The waves are not violent.

It is a historical place but a nice hangout place also...may be remote from the city and not much restaurant or facilities...but if you need a quick skip out to a lonely beach that's it.romantic place..good with family also..

2 hours drive from City, the approach road is a bit narrow and congested but once you are around the beach, it is worth while, has few restaurants around the beach, go to the far end of the beach, it is less crowded there and also don't miss the landmark where "Christopher Columbus" first landed in India. It is in... More

Nice beach to explore and enjoy with kids. There are lots of rocks to climb and enjoy. Sea water is very nica and clean. Shallow beach to enter and have a dip in the beach. Fisher men catching sea fishes and prawns. Good sand in the beach for playing beach games, jogging and lying down. Carry a carpet, eatables, playing... More

We visited the Kappad beach during our 2-day stop in Calicut. We liked it very much due to its historical meaning and also to the fact that it was uncrowded, clean, very big, and you could freely take a bath or sunbath (despite false expectations about the local people). The village is so serene and tropical, people are very friendly... More

It is a pleasant stretch of rock-studded beach. It is one of the most charming Kerala's beaches. ( ti is better known in history as the gateway to the Malabar Coast.) We can see a little stone monument is left at the Kappad beach to speak of its great historic importance ( govt and locals has kept only this to... More
