Cherai Beach is quite little far from the city. But, a beautiful beach, not much crowded. Lot of resorts and restaurents are there to stay and eat. The location has beach on one side and backwater on the other side with the distance between both as just some 500-600 ft. So, one can enjoy both the experience of being in... More

Clean beach where we could take a dip and enjoy the sea. Tip - if you are staying in Chochin and need to shower and change after the beach strike a deal with one of the home stay for an hour or two.

its a good and unspoiled beach on kerala coast with the beauty of the village surrounded there. some excellent resorts and coffee shops are there but they are little bit costly , common facilities are very limited and cleanliness is above average.food outlets also very limited and we can get some excellent variety of fried veg.fritters and fried ice cream.... Cherai Beach is ok but nothing to write home about. The beach is not clean and it's like most beaches along this part of the coast. Rough big waves. Strong currents. Be very careful.

You really cannot call it a beach. A small 5 metro wide stretch which becomes even narrower in high tides, though it is 12km long. Was there during Christmas week and the place was packed. People were there by the dozens and the noise level was very high indeed. The narrow road parallel to the beach is full of vendors... More

There was no crowd and the water was warm. Nice beach with good local eateries along the shore. Definitely visit the beach.

We got to this place by ferry from Fort Cochin to Vypin then bus to Cherai junction, then tuktuk to the beach; a super-cheap trip! We were told that it was the nearest good beach. The beach is very long and not hugely deep, it has pale blond soft sand and is very clean, the beach is backed by coconut... More
