Quite crowded during weekends and holiday season.you can find empty stretches of beach if u travel along the beach road either to left or right. Cherai beach centre you will find theres almost no sandy area afyer the walk way. You can head to kuzhyupily beach(turn left from beach) for nice sandy stretch and no crowd. You will find some local... More

We went up for the day from Fort Kochi and enjoyed the ferry and auto rickshaw trip. It is a bit of a trek and some of the road is rough, but not too bad. The beach was un crowded - if you walked a short distance from the center, you had a nice stretch largely to yourself. I enjoyed... More

We travelled 90 mins from fort kochi area to reach Cherai. We hardly spent 15 mins here. Its a small water front (I will not call it a beach). This is not a sandy "beach". No beach beds, no shacks, no water sports. Very few tourists.

We stayed at club mahindra -cherai beach. We had a relaxing holiday in mind before we had made plans and this destination is indeed truly just that. The beach was good n wasnt crowded at all. Overall this is a peaceful holiday destination.

Good beach but little crowded. But if you travel little further backwards towards Vypeen through the beach road we will be able to find good beaches without any crowd and family privacy also there.

Me & my wife wanted to go to a beach in kochi which is nice & clean, where we can relaxed for a day. It's about 25 Km from the fort area. Roads were terrible. But more importantly beach itself was dirty. There was nothing at the beach. No facility at all. It was total wastage of a day! Although... More

There were a lot of school children parading in the beach area on school trips. It was as if they were training like the army. The children seemed happy to be there. There were restaurants around the beach area and plenty of space to park.

We were in Cherai on first 2 days of September. Its a modest fishing village. Its a beach with NO sand stretch! Its a sea shore misunderstood for a beach. Fishes left to dry all around, distributes an unpleasant odour. Feel sorry for Kerala tourism- they dont have any other spot to call it exotic!
