There were a lot of school children parading in the beach area on school trips. It was as if they were training like the army. The children seemed happy to be there. There were restaurants around the beach area and plenty of space to park.

We were in Cherai on first 2 days of September. Its a modest fishing village. Its a beach with NO sand stretch! Its a sea shore misunderstood for a beach. Fishes left to dry all around, distributes an unpleasant odour. Feel sorry for Kerala tourism- they dont have any other spot to call it exotic!

Clean and beautiful than many beaches in Kerala. One of the best tourism location. Though it is a safe sea there are enough security people to meet any unexpected situation.

The beach was nice but a mob tried to set fire to our car. Apparently we had parked it in the wrong place, but signage was poor.

The title captures the essence, although I emphasize it again - it is most certainly one of the best beaches that you'll find in India. Enjoy the view from one of the sea facing resorts along side the beach...not to mention that the trip would be incomplete without sampling the scrumptious food. Clean, like most of the rest of the... It's a long beach and apt for a long long long romantic walk duringsun set. However the beach is a little crowded at some spots. But if u re little adventurous, you can walk along and reach a more lonely spot. Being a long stretch, the beach offers space for everyone anyway :)

The beach itself is rubbish strewn and smelly. The good at the mud to high end restaurants were average at best. The auto ride from fort kochi to the beach was long and bumpy due to the bad roads.
