Its a beautiful long beach where you can spend the whole day and you wont even realize its end f the day. Long serene beach and the best time is in the evening to visit.

Cherai beach is one of the most famous and picturesque beaches in Kerala , God's Own Country. It is located on the north-end of the Vypin Island and is ideal for swimming. This sandy beach is a unique combination of the sea and the backwaters, studded with seashells of various hues and shapes. Dolphins are occasionally seen here. Thick coconut... More

My Wife and I rented a bike form Fort Kochi and boarded a Ferry to Vypin Island. Cherai Beach is a 20 km ride from there. The beach is crowded with local people. There is a wall around the beach to prevent the water from overflowing during HighTide/Floods, Due to which no Resort gets a clear view of the beech.... More

A very clean beach if you walk away from the main beach front. It is quite crowded on the weekends - but if you walk to the left (towards Kuzhupilly beach), it gets quieter and pristine with tall trees lining the beach. Very photogenic!! It is worth the visit. Do not go there expecting beach activities, restaurants etc. There are... More

the idea of having fun on beach is totally negated the moment one has the first look of the beach far from mainland and one of the horrible beaches on the planet. response of local crowd is scary, no outdoor activity , no fun at alll try avoiding it

Nothing compared to Goa beaches but is one of the cleaner ones in the country. Not well commercialised with limited options for snacks n drinks. Beach is walled to avoid any high currents entering the roads n civilian areas. Nothing exceptional n can be missed.

Went along with my wife. As a beach, its very good and calm, but the crowd there was horrible. The local crowd would stare your lady as if they have not seen any lady in their life time.. If you and your lady are fine with this situation, you would love to be there, else i would suggest you to... More

This is a lovely beach which wasn't crowded, even I went for a paddle (usually the wife's domain) the water was warm and inviting, gently massaging the beach. I wish we could have stayed longer. Well worth the visit

The Beach is reasonably clean. The water, even in January, was quite pleasant. There are Coconut vendors near the beach, and as there is a sparse crowd which helps in the security. The sunset is very soothing.
