One of the good beaches in surathkal. Its too crowded may be because of NIT surathkal. It has a view of beautiful light house. Lots of buses are thier from mangalore to this beach. its very clean and food is available at this attraction. Sunset is very popular over here. You might find painters portraying sunset into their painting.

We were on our way from Bangalore to Udupi via Mangalore and have decided to visit popular beaches along its way. After Panambur beach at Mangalore, we visited Surathkal beach which is about 10 kms from Panambur beach. We really liked this beach as there was no much crowd and there were huge rocks and lighthouse. We spent some time... More

One among the beautiful beaches n mangalore. The Shiva temple, light house adds to the beauty. The crowd is comparatively lesser and beach is pristine

A great sunset view from the beach. There is a light house which you can climb by stairs (close to 6 floors of normal apartment) by paying a ticket of 10/-. timing of the the light house is limited until sunset. Beach will normally have students of NITK collage. Its a nice walk from Suratkal beach till NITK beach (both... More

This is a beautiful beach to visit. Very clean. Beware of currents here if you plan to go swimming. You can see the active lighthouse.

Calm and a peaceful atmosphere. If are staying in Mangalore, it is about 14-15kms from the city of Mangalore. The place gets a little crowded during the weekends. If you like it Calm, then travel during the weekdays. Wonderful to witness the sunset from here. You can also climb the stairs up the Lighthouse at a nominal cost, to see... More

This beach is very clean and pristine. Though a bit too sandy, i found this very good. Very very few people around though so prefer early morning visit and avoid late evenings.

Surathkal beach has very less footfall. Thanfully that's the reason the beach is clean. One can spend a good time at this beach. It's a photographic pleasure. I'd strongly suggest to visit this beach if you're in Mangalore for just one day.
