White sand beach with clean water and scattered rocks. Overall a nice place to visit in evening before sunset. Most interesting part is the active lighthouse situated on the beach. It can be seen from within only between 4:30 to 6 p.m. It offers a scenic view of the seashore and coastal Mangalore. Guide providing information about the lighthouse is... More

Didn't find anything there. Instead of a beach it was a seashore with a clear warning of not to venture into the water. We spent 5 minutes there and went to Panambur beach.

Although close to Chemical Refineries such as MRPL and Mangalore Port, its a clean beach which can be reached within 15 to 20 mins drive from Mangalore city. Attractions : camel ride, horse ride, Horse carriage rides, some water sports like water bikes, typical fast foods and chats, being windy the beach attracts a lot of kite flyers

I visited Surathkal beach in Dec 2013. It was a real surprise, a pleasant one indeed. I have not seen a beach like this before. Was really beautiful and pleasant. Enjoyed the view of sunset from the beach. I was able to spend some quality time with my sweet heart.

I had been here in October 2011 with family. This is a beautiful and clean beach where one can spot different types of seashells and sea animals. It is a quiet and isolated beach far from the city and with less crowd. It's a nice place to wind down and relax. Must see.

I studied in KREC (now NITK) Surathkal in the last 80s. The beach was prisitine then and was happy to see it the same during my recent visit. The beach is easily approachable via an access road. Swimming was dangerous then because of underwater currents and signs posted even now say the same. The sand is so clean, the waves... More
