Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque. « less

The palace is a ways from the bus terminal nearest to it ( that's how we arrived) but he market where you are let off is fascinating.....wind your way through that and go to the palace, which is behind the hospital (new Underground line was being built there when we were visiting). Wonderful decorative arts to be seen in the... More

This is a really small but well maintained palace. It was the summer palace of Tipu Sultan. I haven’t encountered too much history in Bangalore and this small monument is hence a small oasis in a concrete city. It is well maintained. You should be done with it in 30 minutes, but that would be missing the entire point of... More

We visited Tipu's palace as part of "Bangalore rounds" by BMTC. The palace itself is small and built out of carved teakwood. There is also a small garden in front of the palace. This palace is situated in one of the busiest parts of the town and there is no parking area.

Tipu Sultan Fort was initially built by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore. The fort was later extended by Tipu Sultan, the Emperor of Mysore. Situated near the City Market in bangalore, the fort dates back to the year 1537. Built entirely of teakwood, the palace was constructed as the summer residence of Tipu Sultan. Tipu Sultan used to conduct... More

Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace is nestled in a busy market area. Google maps helped us navigate our way. The Fort and Palace is a small place having the historical significance of being Tipu Sultan's operational palace while in Bangalore. The Palace is made of wood and the carvings on wood are beautiful. The balcony overlooking the garden is gives... More

Decided to visit Tipu Sultan's summer palace after reading reviews in TripAdvisor. Generally tripadvisor always helped me to explore the best attractions in the cities wherever I go, but this time it went terribly wrong. Guys! there is no parking for two or four wheeler at Tipu's palace. So, if you are using your own vehicle to visit the palace,... More
