Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque. « less

Tipu's Palace (as opposed to the Bangalore Palace - which is a Wodeyar legacy) is one of Bangalore’s lesser-known attractions, but it’s a quiet and quaint little palace that is actually quite atmospheric. It’s a 2-storeyed elegant construction dating back to 1790 (it was commissioned by Hyder Ali and completed by Tipu Sultan), and very similar in style to Tipu’s... More

This is an extremely small palace. Anyway, there are not many attractions in Bangalore so this palace becomes a must go.

The small place which was built as a Summer Residence for Tipu Sultan is not a very spectacular place, but it is a historical place where you can feel the History. I am a big fan of Historical Places and this place should be visited at least once. Entry for Indian Citizens is 5 rupees and for foreigners 100 rupees.... More

The palace is a ways from the bus terminal nearest to it ( that's how we arrived) but he market where you are let off is fascinating.....wind your way through that and go to the palace, which is behind the hospital (new Underground line was being built there when we were visiting). Wonderful decorative arts to be seen in the... More

This is a really small but well maintained palace. It was the summer palace of Tipu Sultan. I haven’t encountered too much history in Bangalore and this small monument is hence a small oasis in a concrete city. It is well maintained. You should be done with it in 30 minutes, but that would be missing the entire point of... More
