Watch maamis in their kanjeevarams haggle in the market, visit a temple or two, eat local food and browse through small shops. The Kaadu Malleswara Temple and Sankey Tank are oases of calm amid the bustle. A new arrival on the scene is the incongruous Mantri Mall, much reviled for being the harbinger of modernization in Malleswaram. « less

Malleswaram is the ultimate destination to savour old Bangalore traditions and heritage. Walk through the shopping streets for some good steals or head to the Sankey tank for a serene time by the lake or simply eat out at multiple eateries available at Malleswaram

Truly , i rate this as the top place in Bangalore, clearly biased opinion as i grew up near this place. Keep visitng Malleshawaram even though i now stay in Vijayanagar which is around 8 kms away. As most Bangaloreans are aware , Malleshwaram forms the first part (MAL) and Basavanagudi forms the last part (GUDI) of the famous fictional... More

I went there to buy silk sarees. Explored all the shops there..the stuff is really different in different shops. There are big showrooms as well as street vendors. Prefer to shop from small shops as they are reasonable and have quality and variety as well.

Malleshwaram is one of the oldest area of Bangalore. The shopping area is very largest and crowded . There is a famous Sai Temple in this area. There is hotel near to Railway station entrance, it was my favorite.
