Owner description: Malleswaram, that bastion of Tamilians in Bangalore, is another locale that is a whole world away from India’s silicon city. Watch maamis in their kanjeevarams haggle in the market, visit a temple or two, eat local food and browse through small shops. The Kaadu Malleswara Temple and Sankey Tank are oases of calm amid the bustle. A new arrival on the scene is the incongruous Mantri Mall, much reviled for being the harbinger of modernization in Malleswaram.

This is an ancient Hindu temple built around a huge statue of a bull carved from a huge rock. It is a small temple, but worth a visit.

This was one of the places where it was termed as one of the most happening places of Bangalore. As the city expanded the other places have taken over this mettel. The traditional Bangalore happening place with lots of food streets, purchase points with traditional, cultural goods available in plenty, the shopping area for the older flocks. Now it is... More

Having lived here all my life, it is no wonder I champion for this locality - even if my children can't play on the roads like I did; even if CTR is now Shri Sagar and Janata Hotel has morphed behind a cloth shop; if the cars parked haphazardly makes every walk an adventure; and even if most people who... The rusks at Srinivasa bakery are excellent and right out of the oven. The vegetable market close to the temple has fresh vegetables.

A busy main busy shopping area of 8th cross, Mantri Square Mall with a beautiful upcoming Bengaluru Namma Metro station behind it, the city's biggest Orion Mall with its awesome backyard with the tallest World Trade Center building and a beautiful small lake like pond. Added to the busy 8th cross there are another 2 main shopping roads - Sampige... More

It is a typical residential area which is slowly giving way to commercial space . How ever the shops are invading into the main road only. The well known Mantri mall is located at this centre. The locality is about 4 kms from the Bangalore city railway station and though a local railstation is available, mail/express trains do not stop... More

Malleswaram is very old, traditional residential & commercial area. Always busy. Area has well known Temples. Ideal place for window shopping, having good restaurants mostly Vegetarian. Biggest attraction is flower market & gets very crowded during festival season
