Watch maamis in their kanjeevarams haggle in the market, visit a temple or two, eat local food and browse through small shops. The Kaadu Malleswara Temple and Sankey Tank are oases of calm amid the bustle. A new arrival on the scene is the incongruous Mantri Mall, much reviled for being the harbinger of modernization in Malleswaram. « less

An old locality of Bangalore. But driving around Malleshwaram you can see the new too. Malls, branded stores, apartment complexes, etc. But a walk on 8th cross, especially during a festival is an experience you won't forget easily. A must see for foreign tourists.

Love Malleswaram. 8th Cross should be in all the guidebooks.... or maybe not because then it would perhaps change. It was my yoga teacher who told me about 8th Cross - here you can get copper pots and pans and clay cooking pots and natural salt. And pretty much everything in between from clothing to medicines and fresh fruit and... More

Wow, i luv Malleshwaram every time I am there. Shopping by the wayside, good hotels, great vegetables and very colourful with decorations and flowers. Parking area is less, need to park a lil far away and walk but worth it.

Malleswaram is an important locality in Bangalore. There is a historical temple of Lord Shiva called Kadu Malleswara. Beside that there are other temples of Mother Goddess Ganga, Lord Narasimha. The river Vrishabhavathi takes her birth here and flows via Kengeri to join the other river. Once upon a time when Rishis and sages were there in this area they... More

Malleshwaram has its own charm- its market, sankey lake, IISc, Sampige road etc make this place in Bangalore highly desirable area to stay. Mantri mall on Sampige road has spoiled the neighborhood to some extent, causing traffic jams Do visit Sona's Kodiyal to enjoy coastal Karnataka food. Sheshayya memorial hall will be having music concerts and other events that are... More

I and my family simply love the shops and variety of items on display. Food lovers also have a lot to choose from. Ideal for a Saturday evening out with family.

Malleswaram, to me represents much of the old Bangalore that I left 34 years ago to move to the United States. The main drag is Sampige Road going one way and Margosa Road going the other. Straddling these are the many cross roads that are the hub of shopping and residences and where the heart of Malleswaram lives. Near the... More

This is a great place if you are interested in buying house hold things for a much lesser price but of very good quality. This is a fabulous place to hangout with friends also. Only one drawback though. The traffic is very bad and difficult to find a parking place, mainly for cars.
