Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art in Bangalore, with an enviable alumni list. Located in a tree-lined campus, CKP — as it is popularly known — has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery has rotating exhibits while the museum has permanent displays of paintings and crafts. CKP comes alive during its much-awaited fests: the annual Handicraft Mela and the Chitra Santhe (art market), both of which provide outlets for artists and craftsmen.

I Think it has its importance in its capacity to attract visitors. It does hold a mystery for the exhibitors.

Crafts galore here. This is the arts college in Bangalore but has something to offer to anyone who steps in. A lot of craft from around the country and painting exhibitions are put up often for locals to shop. There are also evenings of musicals with these craft fairs sometimes, which are worth a catch. Try and commute here in... More

CKP is a lovely place to relax and see the paintings of the artist Roerich. If there are exhibitions you can see the works of upcoming artists. It is small and I would recommend it more for a local Bangalorean rather than for an outstation visitor. It is better known for the craft and ethnic clothes exhibitions. Good place to... More

KCP is a wonderful places for an art lover. You can slowly drift from one painting to another relishing. Usually some event or other is held there and the annual "Citra Santhe " - The Art Market is a good place to buy the artefacts.
