Owner description: Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art in Bangalore, with an enviable alumni list. Located in a tree-lined campus, CKP — as it is popularly known — has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery has rotating exhibits while the museum has permanent displays of paintings and crafts. CKP comes alive during its much-awaited fests: the annual Handicraft Mela and the Chitra Santhe (art market), both of which provide outlets for artists and craftsmen.

You will definitely need a coffee break. Various artists displaying their Art on the ground floor- for sale. If only there was a guide. Go to the Ashoka... More

The Chitrakala is a school of art. The ambience of the place is beautiful., quite exceptional. It is situated in the heart of the city of Bengaluru, but once you enter the gates you are transported elsewhere, this is a welcome oasis within this crowded city. You can spend time in the gardens and enjoy the art on display. There... More

I was invited as a chief guest to inaugurate an art collection, and I should confess I am no artist, however, I have developed to appreciate "art forms." It is natural to compare this attractive platform created for budding, young and accomplished artists with western best practices. In spite of world class works by many artists, the Chitrakala Parishat needs... More

I am a great admirer of art & I also admire the skills & talents of those who perform in the arts. Art galleries play an important role in the people’s understanding of the real essence of art and make them appreciate their culture. Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad is one of the oldest & biggest art complexes in Bangalore. It was... More

An art academy whose gallery is open for tourists and is a must visit for art lovers. Apart from contemporary art, traditional paintings are also on display. Many art events are held here and are open for public.

The art museum appeared to be free when we went and therefore well worth it! There are more rooms than you think they are. For me, I really enjoyed the Mysore paintings at the far end of the museum with gold leaf detail (don't miss the room downstairs as well) and the ones by S.S Kukke. There are also excellent... More

As an artist it is a very interesting place to visit in Bangalore. The location is beautiful, however, having seen many other art schools in india, this could have been much better. There is so much greenary all around, but as an art school it could have had more interesting locales for artists to draw and paint. The. Exhibitionn halls... More
