The beautiful Ulsoor Lake, located in the city center, went through a phase of being thoroughly neglected before it was spruced up again. Boating is a possibility here. A visit to this lake can be combined with a visit to the nearby Gurudwara (Sikh house of worship), Bangalore’s largest.

As a kid, we used to come here for picnics, wildlife and ambiance, pristine air..etc. Now thanks to Bangalore's "superb" civic authorities, there's pollution galore and a stink that ensures that mosquitos dance around you. Useless Loos and closed down Lido. Missable despite the walking path made last year.

Visit this place every morning for an hours jog. This lake could be maintained better than what it is now

It is one of the worst lakes i have ever visited. Most of the people visit because of the boating which is why i have given 3 stars. One can enjoy boating at a nominal charge there and the area of the lake is huge because of which one enjoys boating. But the water is really dirty and you do not feel like... This is an old lake in Bangalore and is quite badly maintained. Sometimes it stinks too. If maintained well, the lake can be beautiful. You will need around 10 minutes here. I have seen ulsoor lake transform from a dirty and smelly lake like most of other lakes in bangalore to a healthy one. This lake if provided continous maintenance can transform into the best city center lakes in bangalore, given it's close distance to mg road and trinity circle.

while walking across the road surrounding the lake, one used to feel a gush of cool breeze.....feels like a century ago. At present, there's hardly anything left that would attract people to visit this place. Some areas of the lake stink so much that it's nearly impossible to stand there without covering your nose

I lived in Bangalore 20 years ago and visited Ulsoor lake a few times during my last stay...The lake retains its pristine and serene charm but all the trash and filth on its banks filled me with disgust...Why can't it be maintained better?

This is a lovely place to take a walk, boat or simply unwind. There are a few street vendors where you could try some pakoda's/bhajji's. There is also a costa coffee very close to one of the exits at the lake. The place was generally clean and even the water appeared very clear. There are a few boating options viz.... More
