Basavangudi is one of the few areas in Bangalore that have retained its old-world charm. A residential area with quaint homes, leafy roads, markets and temples, a walk here can take you back in time. Always buzzing with activity, Basavanagudi buzzes even more feverishly before festivals. There are numerous restaurants here, some institutions in themselves. This is a good place to feast on idlis (savory cake), dosas (savory pancakes) and the famous filter kaapi (coffee).

Basavanagudi is a residential and commercial locality in the Indian city of Bangalore. The residential area is located in South Bangalore and borders Jayanagar. The name "Basavanagudi" refers to the Bull Temple that is located here.

It one of the main reason most of the people go to basavanagudi. This place contains one of the largest bull in the whole of karnataka. Exciting during this time.

Basavangudi has been a delightful place to stay. Surrounded by Greenery and lots of Commercial Option it is a central location in bangalore. There are so many temples around with eating joints and great transport service. One can enjoy taking walks around bull temple and having delicious cuisines in many restaurants.

Its been a childhood place, best place for shopping for your daily needs to high end shopping. Also great place to eat, Vidyarthi Bhavan, Upahar Darshini (UD) are the favourite ones. Also has lots of temples, Bull Temple and Dodda Ganapathi temples are the ones you cannot miss.

The bull temple with a monolith statue is the main attraction. Vegetable, fruits, flowers and various other items are available in the area.

The young girls working the front desk can't answer half of your questions about the island. Also, you're not allowed to bring friends over into your room. Absolutely ridiculous rules and if you question them they will tell you to "feel free to check out".

Walk the by-lanes of an era gone by. Have some authentic south-indian food - benne masala dosa at Vidyarthi Bhavan and vada+coffee at Brahmin's Coffee Bar. Enjoy the riot of colors and smells in the Gandhi Bazar, the main market of the locality. Perfect place to spend a relaxed day eating, walking and relaxing at one of the parks if... More

Basavanagudi is losing all its charm now a days. With more commercialisation in place, there is no older attachment. Feels like we have lost too much. Only thing still remaining is "Kadalekalu Varase". Must visit for all, be it localilte or an outsider.
