I heard about this place through friends.. Good the see a huge banyan tree but as main trunk is not anymore it looks scattered. Also this place is not maintained well. Could be the reason there is no entry fee.

A huge, very old banyan tree.. Nice place to visit once, click a few pics and marvel at this tree! Many people visit this place with family to have picnic. But yes, nothing too great..

Its a nice place. The banyan tree has a vast expanse which shadows the whole garden. I have been there twice on cycle but this was never the destination. It was more of a pitstop. You can relax in the cool breeze for sometime but apart from that there is nothing much to do here. The locality nearby is also... More

Its a big tree spead in a large area. But its nothing more than that. Its little far from the city. There are no great surrounding around the tree too. Just some small shops. Recommended for one time visit.

Though it is just a Banyan tree but it is hugeeeee..... The park around it serves as an excellent picnic spot. We wanted to get out of the city hassle on the new year's eve and we drove here. The ride through the Nice Ring Road was superb... Good for a few hours get away...

I was in Bangalore to celebrate Holi with my near and dear ones. We searched on net to visit a place nearby. We had many options but for some reason we decided to visit the big banyan tree or most commonly known as dodda alada mara in local language. It was a disappointing trip overall. The place didn't turn out... More

If you have food such as a banana and the monkeys start coming toward you to grab it out of your hand do not run! Drop the banana and the monkey will grab it and run up the tree. If you run the monkey will chase you and youndon't want that lol...

it's India's 4th largest big banyan tree situated in Bangalore(Karnataka). Must go to watch at least one time specially for nature lovers. Fun , picknic and masti with nature. don't go with much expectations and try for early morning walk as gate opens at 06:30am - enjoy awesome views in morning.
