I have visited this place two weeks back and also two years back. Curreltly the situation is very bad. The main trunk of the banyan tree is degenerated and lost connection to its parts. It looks like many small banyan tree than a big one. The beauty is also spoilt by the concrete foot paths and completely littered surroundings. You... More

If you have food such as a banana and the monkeys start coming toward you to grab it out of your hand do not run! Drop the banana and the monkey will grab it and run up the tree. If you run the monkey will chase you and youndon't want that lol...

it's India's 4th largest big banyan tree situated in Bangalore(Karnataka). Must go to watch at least one time specially for nature lovers. Fun , picknic and masti with nature. don't go with much expectations and try for early morning walk as gate opens at 06:30am - enjoy awesome views in morning.

What a shame - such a beautiful tree is now fenced off with concrete pathways - what a shame. This is what happens when you expect the local municipality to take care of a creation of mothere nature over many many years. Be wary of the monkeys - dont bother them and they wont bother you. Also, dont carry any... More

Excellent place to enjoy, You can not find that when your time passed there in the natural beauty. Afternoon time is the best one to be there.

Apparently this is the fourth largest tree in the bad. There are quite a few benches for people to sit and there is place for kids to play as well. But the place is not mentioned well. We couldn't have lunch there as there were too many monkeys. Not bad for a day trip.

About an hour's drive from the centre of Bengaluru (Bangalore), the 400-year old 'Big Banyan Tree' would be a pleasant spot for a brief visit, especially so with a (young) family. The tree has lost its main trunk and so now appears more like a collection of smaller trees - but is still rather impressive and offers some respite from... More

Historic 400 year old Banyan Tree stand in Mysore Road, Bangalore. Must visit for family as everyone will love to spend some time under this huge tree shade. Tips: Better to reach this place before 11 am, as it will be crowded especially during weekend post 11am. Else you will not get a decent place to sit, dine and play... More

It's a nice drive from Bangalore, you can spend an hour or two with your family. on the way you will see some flower nurseries also. From there you can drive down to Machaneble dam, though the dam is closed you get a view point of the valley and Akravathi river.
