This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

It's was a very nice place to visit. This place is a little far away from the Bengaluru city nearly seventy km. If u don't want to miss the sunrise its advisable to start early in the mornings. The beauty of the place lies in timing of our visits. Early Mornings in winters just before the sunrise is the best... More

We went there as part of our small weekend trip, along with another newly married couple. We planned to go early in the morning to see the sunrise, but we ended up stuck at 'a lot of traffic signals on the way there. Nonetheless, it was a good experience witht the visit to Nandi Hills, the temple, the Demon statue... More

Great for early morning visits. Must reach there really early to witness the sunrise. Truly marvelous! The sunset is great there as well. One can even take their cars inside the arena, but I would suggest the adventurous bike ride. It more fun then. One can even stop at various photo-points on the way. One warning: Be aware of the... I went there to catch the sunrise but it so happened that we got stuck in traffic and reached after sunrise. But considering the fog - I don't think any sunrise would have been possible anyway. It is an amazingly beautiful place. The kind you don't expect to be so close to a big city. Whole place feels like heaven.... More

Nandi hills is a tourist place around 70km from city. Best is to leave early morning by bike and reach nandi hills around 6am to see the sunrise. You can actually enjoy being in clouds here. And yes, don't expect to have mobile network connectivity at Nandi hills. It's an advantage to be at peace I would say!

This place is situated just out side of bangalore. I went there on bike. Gen rally it is preferred to start early in morning. We should reach there before sunrise. Depending on weather you may or may not see sunrise. But in both case that place will look beautiful. The road to that place goes through some wine yards, which... More
