Owner description: This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

It was an unplanned idea of riding to hills of Nandi. Early morning 4.30 am we started from Kundalahalli area. We took airport road and it took 1 hour for us to reach at the foot hill of Nandi. Inhaling the fresh air of nandi has a real fragrance of eucalyptus in it. Slowly we rode to reach to the... More

We visited this place on 2nd of December. We missed the sunrise by about 15 minutes so I cannot really comment of how serene it might have looked. The place is fine but really crowded. If you are looking for peace on a weekend better avoid because its really noisy.

Second visit, Started from Banaglore around 5. Since it was weekend, there was lot of visitors to nandhi, reached around 6.15. The fogs were already reduced, but still the wind and cold was there. Sun had already rise,. But the view of the hills hidden in clouds was still there.. Another awesome place to visit in early morning from bangalore

Reach at the time of either sunrise or Sunset. Good for a weekend getaway. Hotels are there even though food is just ok.
