Leh is a place that you can sometimes overlook even when you are in it. I suggest going to the Leh Palace and take in the view, acclimatise yourself to the air you breathing in by the walk up to it. Sit in the empty chambers and let your self realize where you are sitting. There is not much in...

The Palace is THE place to watch the sun come up over the valley in the morning. It is stone silent and the sun begins to pour over the mountains on the east lighting the city up. Spent over an hour with a friend and a few dozen magpies-no one else. The photos were spectacular. We hiked up from the...

A after a trek up there it was nothing more than an ongoing building site with not much to see other than views of the surrounding areas, don't waste your money.

An interesting steep walk up through back streets over rough ground. The palace is very dark and is undergoing renovation so not much to see except for an interesting photo exhibition. However, it is quite atmospheric and the views from various terraces are great.

Place was completely run down, absolutely nothing to see. Besides, not entirely sure how you can call this a palace. Only decent thing from here are the views of the city but there are loads of other places with equally good views.
Go here only if you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING else to do.

Leh Palace is 5* to look at. It dominates Leh with Namygel Tsemo above.
It can be reached by walking up through the old town through winding streets which are too narrow for cars. These are lined with mud brick houses, many of which are in a poor state of repair or derelict. There is a final steep scramble up...

Looked at it from my hotel and got the impression as if it is a muddy ruined building. We walked through dirty and filthy and narrow streets to reach it by short cut. Lot of breathlessness, but still had a desire to look into its interior parts. When we were just approaching it two young tourist boys with cameras in...
