I felt proud to be an Indian when I visited Leh/Ladakh & Kashmir. We have so many wonderful natural places in India & Magnetic hill is just one of them. One can see the demo shown by most tour operators.

We reached there while going to Srinagar from Leh, where magnetic hills comes on the way. I think this is just an optical illusion where road is sloping but looks flat due to angle of surrounding hills. Once you park your car at marked place it moves due to ?slope ?magnet. Not worth special visit.

I couldn't believe for a moment when my bike started moving itself at this incredible hill. Its on the way to Sham valley on NH1 itself.

Maybe some of you would disagree to average rating. Believe, even though the magnetic strength in the area was much higher than usual, but the phenomena of car running uphill (which was not actually uphill ;) ) seemed to fool a place. personal opinion.. Maybe because, I had heard alot about the place and expected better..

The against gravity experience does not happen as we expect it to happen. You need to park your car and stop the engine at the particular stop and then wait for the natural magnet to work. It does happen to an extent but its not as strong as one would expect. However, its a one time visit.

There is nothing extra ordinary about this , this is just a sloping road which creates and illusion. Can visit for the view to the place

I don't know the exact reason behind this but I guess Magnetic force is high due to this vehicles drive automatically.
