We went on Thar and did offroading by climbing the mountain with the car. Its illusion over there so do not get taken away with what is written over there.

Our car did move uphill though the ngine was switched off, though many other cars merely wasted their diesel. So you can give it a try as it is close to other attractions like Sangam and the gurdwara.

The internet says it is an optical illusion and I tend to believe that. Though the enthusiasm of Bikers and Motorists riding up the side of the hill does make it seem true.

its just a road and if you have read enough about optical illusions, there will be no charm about it . Still its fun to see the vhicles roll upwards on thr own even if the engine is off. A photo point for sure :)

We couldn't understand anything out of the magnetic hill. I have seen lot of videos but couldn't experience anything of that sort nor did the fellow travellers who were present at the point and trying hard. Probably we didn't get the visual illusion.

The board shows a different story which is not at all in practicality. The ride towards this hill will make you much happier than experiencing the true gravity. To conclude I would say Ladakh itself is a Gravity and once you visit the barren land and snow covered mountains the gravity of it will call you back to visit the... More

Not sure whether it is an optical illusion or a real magnetic phenomenon, but nothing much to be seen here. The vehicles slowly do appear to roll uphill somehow. And you can get off thr vehicle and take a few pics with the one board saying Magnetic Hill. It is on the way to the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and the... More

I think this Magnetic effect etc. is more of an optical illusion than reality. Because of optical illusion we see an upward slope which is actually downward grade only, thus moving the car! Anyway, that's my view!

Been curious to see anti-gravity work on that particular stretch. So, checked the slop using the Bubble level indicator and a panoramic shot of the road from a distance of 50 meters to check the inclination and what I found is that there is slope or dip due to that reason the vehicles starts rolling down. However, if you are... More
