This lake is very calm and charming with absolutely scenic setting all round , with out the stay in house boats of Srinagar tour will not be complete , the House boats here are cheap (2000/-)compared to Alappuzha in Kerala, we enjoyed the House boat stay , the dinner was excellent , overall experience of Srinagar was awesome . Must... More

Make sure to choose to stay in a houseboat on Nagin Lake as against Dal lake if you are looking for a noiseless peaceful stay. The lake is awesome, calm, serene and a true experience of heaven on earth.

Dal is over hyped. Nagien lake is quieter, cleaner and better for a stay . The houseboats are fewer hence the lake looks less crowded. The waters are still and mornings offer a perfect view of sunrise as the sun rises from behind the mountains opposite to view area of the house boats and makes the water look golden .... More

The Nagin lake is a much smaller lake than the immense Dal lake but it seems to have an entirely different character of its own. Surrounded by mountains on one side and the lush green premises of the Nagin club on the other, it has a serene quality as though protected from everything beyond!

We stayed at houseboat in Nigeen lake and also stayed in a homestay close to this lake. This is a very calm and peaceful lake compared to Dal lake. But, some more attractions could have been developed so that sikara ride becomes more enjoyable in this lake. There is no standard charge of sikara ride and in fact the tourism... More

If you want to be away from the hustle & bustle of DAL Lake and enjoy the quite, peaceful and scenic view. This is the place.

Visited on June 14 and stayed at new Jacquline houseboats. Houseboats are placed at a distance and not as near as Dal Lake. Nagin as it means diamond is a peaceful attraction which can can remind of the peace in valley. Nagin lake is smaller compared to Dal lake with very few houseboats , this makes it more peaceful as... Stayed in Nagin lake for 4 nights in June 2014. If you are looking for peace and scenic beauty, then this is the right place. But then that's all about it. Reason I am giving only 3 stars is because of the bad attitude of Shikara walas in Nagin lake. I can say that because I also stayed in Dal... More
