Good place

I went there for the namaz prayer. it is nicely built and is built of wooden blocks. it is situated near by the pahalgam lake. there are some amazing views.

I was arrived in srinagar in wrong time, there is a conflict between kashmir people and indian army and 1 boy get killed by the army. many army standby in historic sites included this mosque. we cant get inside by the army, even local people that want to pray inside of them too!

although a place the locals and some of the tour guides would discourage one to go(citing reasons its in the downtown), the masjid is one the most beautiful structures in the valley, with its architecture, essence of culture and the exemplary use of the building material and great building technology!!

It's an very old (1394 AD) but well maintained architecture. The 378 pillars are made up out of trunks of deodar trees which is very unique. These pillars support a very well crafted wooden ceiling. There is a calm and pious atmosphere in the masjid.

The entry gate and the inner court yard were very different and spectacular. The wooden pillars are a marvel

Its a nice huge most with religious history. The pillars in the mosque are huge. almost a complete tree. The mosque remains closed on Friday.

The Jama Masjid mosque is massive ... holds 33 thousand worshipers we are told - and is distinctive in its 370 wooden pillars forming the mosque area, which surrounds a central courtyard. Unique in Srinigar in that non-Moslems and women (suitably covered of course) can enter, so well worth a visit just for that reason. You can take photos inside... More

the mosque by itself is very spectacular and you wish to stay there till the namaz proceedings get over. the place is quiet and a wonderful peaceful atmosphere

the masjid is centuries old and well maintained. the atmosphere is very peaceful and you can go around the whole place. the carpets and the carvings are worth a watch

The most unique mosque in the world , its a wonder for Architecture lovers, just can't imagine the amount of variety we have in this country. don't miss the wooden pillars inside the mosque complex
