No doubt the place is excellent and covered by big hills all around make the place unique. But the main attraction of Satluj river is no more and hot spring is not visible as NTPC make it as a dam to produce electricity. You can't see the flow of the water like before and the colour of the water is... More

It is a very beautiful and scenic place almost 50 km away from shimla. Very calm and clean place covered with huge mountains and have a hot water spring on the bank of river Satluj But the real beauty is landscapes around. Tatta means boiling and pani means water. This place is famous for it's hot spring ponds. There are different ponds of different temperatures. Taking bath in these hot spring water is considered good for heath. But be careful do not blindly go for skin burning pond go for little worm pond. Some ponds are so hot it instantly boils rice... Due the the dam constructed on satluj river, the natural hot water spring is now submerged under river water. But the near by hotel, "Hotel hot spring" has connected that hot spring direct into their pool. So if u want to have a bath in sulphar water, u can go to that hotel. They charges Rs 350 per person. Used to be hot springs near river satluj. Recently the river became a lake because of Kol dam hydel power project. The view has drastically improved. The still water lake looks too good at this place.
