Laxmi Vilas palace is the soul of Baroda's tourist attraction built by Sayajirao Gaekwad III with the help of a foreign architect (if I'm not mistaken). The magnificence is in it's sheer size. With a most divine golf course & glass painting (don't know its technical term) this palace is comparable to any of the palaces of rajasthan or Mysore... More

This historic palace has a picturesque setting with the splendid Golf greens in its background. The entry ticket is quite costly at Rs.200/- per head. The audio-supported tour is a well-thought of idea but it could be made better by ensuring proper numbering of the spots serially with directions for each spot at more prominent places with arrows and free... if you are visiting by auto, ask the driver to drop you at gate no. 2 (be careful because the driver had mislead us and dropped in gate no. 3 and we wasted walking half an hour). The ticket price is Rs 200 for indians as well as foreigners. They provide a audio headset which is informative but requires patience.

Good spot to visit once in a while. If you got guests at your home, you can always recommend them to visit Laxmi Vilas Palace. As Vadodara doesn't have as such many options for tourists, this one serves a good purpose. The historical feel is really nice and people enjoy the atmosphere there. I have been to this place many... Thank you for your review. Baroda does have many other places of interest but the city has not been sold well. Our effort is to get more people to Baroda although , understandably, Lukshmi Villas will always be the show stopper! More

The Laxmi Vilas Palace is a magnificent piece of architecture. The landscaped grounds and golf course add to its beauty. A tasteful combination of multiple architectural styles, the palace also houses some brilliant artwork and sculptures. The audio guide is detailed and allows one to wander and pause at one's own pace. I liked that the staff members were helpful... More

This is. Very well maintained palace. Worth to see when in Vadodara. In the night palace look so beautiful. Nearby palace is the vaodara's only 11 hole golf course. Such a marvelous architecture.
