One of the wonders of the world, the imposing 10 story high, intricately carved architectural masterpiece, enshrines Golden Murti (idol) of Lord Swaminarayan, the founder of the Swaminarayan faith. Akshardham is an architectural marvel of this Century. Awe-inspiring auspiciousness and amazing craftsmanship. 6,000 tons of pink sandstone have been pieced together with incredible accuracy. More than 12 million man hours... More

I am not a big temples fan, but having been in Ahmedabad for 2 years, I decided to go here. I liked the place - its big, its clean and its not very crowded. But it can get very hot here. Would definitely recommend going here once..

Akshardham temple stands tall among all the tourist places around Ahmedabad. Well managed place with calm and peaceful ambiance far from the busy streets of ahmedabad. Don't miss out to watch the Water Show and eating tasty khichdi at Premvati restaurant in the temple premises.

I went there from Ahmadabad with the local bus, it took me more than 1 hour to get there. You cannot bring cell phone and camera inside, you have to deposit your stuffs at the entrance so don't bring much of the valuable stuffs with you. I think the temple is more for the locals than foreign tourists. I barely... More

Akshardam Temple is one of the must visit place in Gandhi nagar. Its a holy place and now under tight security. You can not take your mobiles inside. Do not miss the late evening laser show, which is very nice.

While I am not an avid temple goer the visit to Akshardham is really soothing to the mind . The overall ambiance sans the entertainment area is a revelation . This is a must visit for anybody who is visiting Ahmadabad .A small thing to remember is that mobiles and any kind of handbags are not allowed . There are... More

Architectural gem in the lovely planned environs of Gandhinagar - the clean and unusually well organised capital of Gujrat! Belowngs to the SwamiNarayan cult and can be a bit of a jolt to see a person idolated in a giant format. However the gardens are lovely as are the eateries and the evening show is a must see even with... More
