If you ever travel to Diu on business and have time to spare then it is worth spending few hours to go and see this old Portuguese fort. It is not a very big fort but it is impressive none the less and it definitely served its purpose for few hundred years. You cannot visit the jail which was active... More

We thought, it is another name-sake fort. But to our surprise, it was too good. It looks small, but has good number of places to see within. The architecture is very similar to that of Goa Aguada fort (Portugese). You can imagine how beautiful the life must have been within the fort.

It was peaceful, not much crowd, Portugese architecture (A break from Mughal Architecture which is so common). Area is huge, got tired of walking and it was very hot.

I went to see the fort for my daughter , but it was very much crowded cos of Janmastami . If anyone is planning to go during this duration , even parking would be a problem near the fort area .

It is an imposing and prominent fort constructed by Portuguese during their rule A great heritage and must see. And provided us with unusual holiday in disturbed peace.

My gosh such a beautiful fort but alas surrounded by filth and it needs a major renovation. Trust me if gets renovated and a liitle marketing will help Diu boom in the space of tourism.

Fort is not in use right but has very much historical value. The scenery around the fort is beautiful. Even its constructed to protect from sea attack. You cant deny if you are in Diu.

Allow about an hour to walk around, the place is quite dilapidated and in need of done real renovation and information revamps. It'd be great if the underground tunnels could be illuminated instead of bat filled. The structure itself is impressive, especially as it hangs precipitously over the edge of it's sea moat. I went at the weekend, joined by... More
