A vast fort with strong fortifications running around on an island itself is quite a view. Very unique for a fort. One must take a guide to appreciate subtle nuances of its architecture/design/history. It looks all more majestic at sun rise. Its the main attraction of Diu, worth spending 2-3 hrs.

We spent some time at the Diu fort and the views of the sea are splendid from here... The spot with cannons was the area where we spent the most time and clicked pictures... did not really go too deep into the fort

Great place to visit. For sure this is the must place to visit if you are in Diu. Great work done by the Portuguese. But it lacks maintenance, cleanliness & upkeep by the management. Obviously the responsibility of cleanliness lies not with the management but with the visitors also. Unfortunately guide service was not available. But more or less good... More

We traveled in the rainy season and at that time there was a rain like cat & dog. We had to wait for at least one hour under domb like structure on the fort terrace. Still we liked to stay there. A temple of lord shiva was there which was beautiful that one could forget to blink eyes.

In Diu, this is the main attraction. The sea view from the top of the fort is majestic. The Light House is the added attraction. Only if the authorities could keep it clean and add a sound and light show, the viewing pleasure will multiply manifold.

If you ever travel to Diu on business and have time to spare then it is worth spending few hours to go and see this old Portuguese fort. It is not a very big fort but it is impressive none the less and it definitely served its purpose for few hundred years. You cannot visit the jail which was active... More

We thought, it is another name-sake fort. But to our surprise, it was too good. It looks small, but has good number of places to see within. The architecture is very similar to that of Goa Aguada fort (Portugese). You can imagine how beautiful the life must have been within the fort.

It was peaceful, not much crowd, Portugese architecture (A break from Mughal Architecture which is so common). Area is huge, got tired of walking and it was very hot.
