This park is nice and quiet. It is located next to the zoo and offers a fence in area away from the adjacent road. Nice park.

I love to visit small town zoos and this one did not disappoint. It was very small and there were mostly birds. However, bald eagles, an alligator, lemurs and black swans made it a fun place to spend an hour. Plus it is only $2.50 for adults.

Decided to stop at the zoo on our way home to El Paso. Zoo opens at 9 and we arrived at 9:30. The zoo was open but no one there to take our entrance fee, so we had to use their "honor system" of pay which means you pay the fee by depositing $$ into an envelope. This is good... More

Very inexpensive entry for what you get! The two bald eagles were our favorite part. Nice playground inside too!

It is a nice little zoo with some indigenous animals. It's also the oldest zoo in the south west. You'd be a fool to compare it to the san diego zoo or expect a similar experience. It is by far not a must visit attraction for travelers passing through, but living here, it's a neat place to pass some time.

The Alameda Park Zoo in Alamogordo is well worth visiting if you are looking for a calm enjoyable afternoon. They are in the process of updating many attractions and getting away from the stark look so many small zoos have. The animals seem well attended to and their cages clean and well supplied. There are several animals which are indigenous... More

Wide variety of exhibits, picnic area available at no extra charge, VERY WELL maintained grounds, lots of shade trees, easily found at a major street intersection, adjacent to a LARGE open area for picnics outside the zoo, a fun miniature train ride. All in all, a GREAT relaxing, interesting, enjoyable experience ! !

I love going here and watching the animals. It is very cheap and gives you plenty of space to walk and relax. Great place to visit if you are in town.

We got in early, but the place was open and you just leave cash in the pay box. I must say for being an oldest zoo, the displays are nicely done for both animals and the viewer. Almost every animal came out to beg for food - so funny! The variety of animals is not like big city ones, but... More
