My family traveled here during the Labor Day weekend and stopped by to visit this very quaint museum to take the train ride and visit the inside museum--one's never too old for a great train ride. Both activities cost us $6.00. The Cottonwood Festival was going on at the time so the train took us to the other side of... More

There are several rooms that house a large model RR layout and many shelves of train cars. A small store is also out front for hobby enthusiasts. The member who took us around had lots of stories and it was hard to sneak off to the outside train ride. The outside ride was fun, but just a straight down and... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the collection of trains at the Toy Train Depot. I can't imagine the time and effort put into their enormous and intricately detailed train sets. My kids had a great time looking at the trains and really liked the train ride. Speaking of kids though, my ten year old son was scolded twice by the people there... More

Men, women, children filled the park and were waiting with excitement to ride the train. The ride was short but enormous fun because of the great enthusiasm of the volunteers who run the ride. This attraction is located in a big park and is next to a public park with picnic benches all under giant old cottonwood trees. In addition... More

Perfect train ride for the little fans of Thomas. It also is a long ride, goes the length of the park and back not just a short circle. My 2 year old twin grandkids were estatic. Take the time and give your kids the thrill.

Limited operating hours are posted. Beware! My family and I made a special trip to this depot and were turned away on Saturday, 2/22/14. The cashier stated they stop tours at 3pm. The website says 4pm. So, either update your site or retrain your staff on customer service. We arrived at 3:30pm. If you're in desperate need of revenue, why... More

Stopped in to pick something up for my kids but stayed for the tour. What a tour. Been to many of these places but this tour was the best. Lots of items and lots of history

It was a beautiful day, somewhat cloudy, took a drive to check out the train depot. My son loves trains. He had a great ride on the passenger train however the cooler fancier train he really wanted to ride on was out of service. Overall, he got his fix. The excitement really happened when an actual real live train was... More

An old mans dream come true. Museum full on model trains and historic photographs. Volunteer run the place but the best part is riding the miniature trains thru the park

Everything makes this an enjoyable visit. The friendly people that work there, the fun trains that take you around the park, the old train depot, the real caboose outdoors, the great pictures and incredible model trains in the museum. I stop at The Toy Train Depot on every visit to Alamogordo. Ronald M.
