Araku Valley .. a great place with nature's excellency in hilly zone of Andhra Pradesh . The train route from Vizag to Araku is a magic . The A.P.T.D.C arranges regular trip ( To - Fro ) from Vizag via Rail-Road basis package where foods are included. One thing I should mention that, many tunnels are there in the on... More

Ideally train journey is recommended to Araku, since I had already experienced it, tried self driving mode this time. 1) More than destination, I guess the journey excites you. Once you leave vizag, it's more of a country stretch, with wide open agricultural fields dotted with mountains on the periphery. 2) Once you are through the plains, the long winding... More

One of the best way to cover the Araku valley is by train from Visakhapatnam on the Visakhapatnam - Kirandul line. This line was built in 1966 to specially carry iron ore to Visakhapatnam port from the mineral reserves of Chattisghad state. The Ghat section has 58 tunnels of which the longest is 869 meters, 84 major bridges and 1187... More

Try to take the train journey from Vizag to Araku valley. It was the most memorable train journey for me. The train was going through many canals and the beautiful eastern ghats never fail to mesmerize us. The weather in Araku was pleasant. The botanical garden here was another place worth mentioning.

We reached Vizag 5.30 am sharp. Journey was ok in volvo bus. From Vizag you can catch train to Araku, at 6.50 am, for great views... More

Araku valley is around 90 km from Vishakhapatnam and the road is good. The drive is very picturesque along the ghat road with undulating terrain, hills and streams along the way. We stopped at the APTDC resort at Tyda, called "Jungle Bells" for tea and bought some wonderful Etikoppa wooden toys. Araku valley Tribal Museum is also worth a visit-it has... More
