We traveled by the early morning 7.00 am train. APSRTC Arranged trip with breakfast facility was well received. The natural beauty and the innumerable caves are a treat to watch. You should travel here with children and they will certainly enjoy. The only unfortunate point is the total absence of water in the falls, which was very sad.

I visited Araku valley along with family and stayed at Haritha Hill Resort Mayuri for one night. Location of this resort is beautiful and resort is all also lovely decorated with flowers and gardens etc. But check in and check out time is 9 A.M. which is not very useful and it should be 24 hours check out timings. Araku is a good place to check out if you are visiting Vizag for the first time. Definitely not worth a second visit, but you might not want to hear people ridicule you for not doing so. There are few attractions around araku, such as the tribal museum, chaapa raya, padmavati gardens, waterfalls among others. On the way to araku... More

3hr drive from vishakapatnam airport. Train facility also available from Vishakapatnam. Carpet of yellow flowers can be seen during the month of Nov/Dec. cool weather and the temperature often drop to 4degrees.One of the best hill station in South India.

The valley is an experience in itself, with twisting roads and greenery all around. The distance to valley is not much but keep enough time at hand as climbing the ghats is slow process. Also, do stop by the coffee plantations to go right up to the coffee plants to pluck the beans. Also, small kiosks serve coffee as well!

We went from Vishakhapatnam by train to reach the valley and boy was it worth the effort. Once the train ascends up the hills it is difficult to look away. As the train winds up the hills the view gets better and better. The fields, the frequent water bodies and the sudden dense forest!! A real feast to the eye.... More
