The visit to Salar Jung museum is a good experience indeed, the highlight was the Mephistopheles and Margherita where a sculpture is shown facing a mirror at an angle so you can view dual personalities. Lots of periodic art especially during the Nizam dynasties, a must visit for evey traveller to Hyderabad.

Great collection and good guidance!!! The only thing they would need to improve upon is good lighting in some of the areas of the museum.

The world renowened Salar Jung Museum has a huge collection of art and artifacts from around the world from the 18th and the 19th century. But one collection worth mentioning is the toy army collection at the ground floor hall. There is a huge collection of toy soilders, army vehicles, planes, and armies of the world displayed is a most... More

The collection is amazing with artic acts from Europe Far East and India . Sections on art ,sculpture, brass and wood furniture and utensils and a veritable section on Ivory work. Huge collection of jade and semiprecious stone articles. The piece de resistance is the veiled Rebecca, although the musical clock gathers a bigger attraction The museum gets 3000 visitors... More

Couldn't wait to leave this very crowded and poorly maintained concrete round box of a museum The artifacts were so poorly presented that it was shocking and reminded me of the dull museums of the former Soviet bloc countries Anyone who has been to world class museums should not waste a visit here!

If you are into museums and art you will love this place. There are several items from the past which have probably already been covered in other peoples reviews. You can plan to spend half a day here atleast. Check for timings when the cuckoo clock plays, there is a huge crowd to watch it. you can plan for some... More

As most of the people written so much about this, I will not repeat that again. Important tip is to hire guide, otherwise you will be bored. I’d suggest you to hire good guide from Hyderabad for whole day. And ask him to show 3 / 4 places in day. They will charge you around 1000 to 1500, but they... More

I went to Salarjung, the first weekend I was here in Hyderabad. The museum doesnt compare in scale to the national museum of Delhi or even the state archaeology museum of Bhopal. However, what it lacks in scale, it makes up in the finesse of most of the art objects on display. The pieces are individually brilliant and also convey... More

The Place is very good with lots of tourists. The historics are amazing with the collection. Since I am not a historian , I couldnot make out much. But that doesnt mean that its a dull place. Its really exciting. Rooms after rooms of facts /remnants. Must visit in Hyderabad
