Beautiful setting, but accomodations have not been updated for decades. Linens were stained and torn. Reservation for a private room made 5 months in advance was not honored. Had to share a bathroom with the couple in the next room. Man had to urinate frequently in the night and missed the bowl! When I used the bathroom, in the middle... more

My friend and I stopped here after touring O'Keeffe's house in the town Abiquiu (easy 15 mile drive from tour office next to Abiquiu Inn). It was well worth it. The landscape changes dramatically. It's a must for any O'Keeffe fan. Great views of the Cerro Pedernal, (painted many times by O'Keeffe). But the whole area is picturesque. We took... more

April 14, 2009 visit. We went on an hour long ride and tour by Karen and it was great. She explained about Georgia O'Keeffe, her life and her painting. Prior to the ride she showed the paintings that were inspired by the landscape. Then we rode through the landscape as she pointed out what the artist focused on. It was... more

We went to Ghost ranch during the fall season about two years ago...my very best friend in the world and I. We visited the Benedictine Monastery high in the mountains ( they take guests and will stay one day ), went to the pueblo in Taos and overall had a marvelous time. The ranch was the home base for our... more

Ghost Ranch, the retreat center located near Abiquiu, New Mexico, has a cult following. At least two thirds of the guests I spoke to while I was here have been here before...some many times. Ghost Ranch runs a huge variety of programs, including writing seminars, many art classes, and hiking. I was here for the 'Hiking to ancient sites, ancient... more

Don't waste your money ($25 each) on the Ghost Ranch's Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour. My husband and I were disappointed and really put off by this tour led by a retired Presbyterian minister. He knew nothing about O'Keeffe, her art and its place in the tradition, or art in general. His spiel was ignorant and judgmental. He had decided that... more

I came here for a week long course, and luckily booked my own room, thank heavens. A lot of people on my course had to share a bathroom with four others--and the rooms were similar to college style dorms, quite small. It was not the best valued accommodation for the price and was not sure that it had had a... more

yes, this place is the pits in regards to lodging and food, but it is worth it for the surrounding natural beauty. As far as the food goes, I look at this place as a "fat farm" - great place to lose a few pounds. the kids can run wild and they are safe, that alone is worth the price... more

I feel sorry for the people that have written reviews saying "there is nothing to do or see in the area aside from the Ghost Ranch" or were mad about the Ghost Ranch accommodations. I love this part of New Mexico. We go there every time we are in New Mexico. To me it is one of the most beautiful... more

I've seen many tours of O'Keeffe country written in books and online but don't expect there to be too much going on in this beloved location of the great artist. I spent a month here with a college course staying in the casitas near the back of the property and got to know the grounds of Ghost Ranch very well.... more
