Just harrassed constantly throughout the couple of hours we were there. Couldn't stand it - when we tried to politely say we weren't interested, local traders got stroppy with us.

Sharm el Sheikh full of men, no female egyptians working there and doesn't it show. Most of the men are away from home with families back in Cairo. Women get a LOT of hassle - even with a male partner. Stories like tourists being chased down the street, being locked into shops and being overcharged are common. It quickly got... More

A lot of hassle from shop keepers and bars and restaurants but just say <la shukran> and they say you are welcome. A bit of hassle okay but when they pester you and shout down the street at you it spoils it! Good atmosphere, nice restaurants and some great bars.

Great place with a good vibe and buzz, just unfortunate that when you first get there you have to walk through the market area where you get hassled an unbelievable amount. Persevere and just walk swiftly through that bit, it is worth it!

Was here 9 years ago when it was more sedate and pleasant, now its full of hotels, bars and restaurants, and the illuminations are well overdone. It is more in line with an overdone Blackpool - lots of lights and locals continually badgering you to visit their shop. Watch for being scammed, short changed, sold a pup ! better to... More

My husband and I visit Egypt annually and love the place. In the Sinai we always stay in Dahab and have never ventured into Sharm, as it has never really appealed to us. This trip we decided to spend a few days in Sharm and booked a hotel just out of Na'ama Bay. While we were happy with our hotel,... More

Plenty of shops and restaurants but you don't half get hassle off everyone. On our first day there some random Egyptian came up to us and asked us if we'd like to buy some Cocaine from him. We just laughed at the idiot, but that is the kind of people you will get coming up to you there so be... More
