See El Dahar as it is, travelled here by local bus from El Gouna, see real Egyptian life as it is. Hustle and bustle of a town. Prices very reasonable for drinks etc, bus fares cheap, very safe to walk about, plenty of shops selling their wares. Take a taxi from there to Hurghada , must do.

sit down in a café enjoy an arabic coffe and just watch the buzz of everyday life. Donkey wagons and people leaving for work, school or prayer. and housewifes shopping or taking a break in the café with girlfriends - the real Egypt passes by unaffected

At first I thought this area was not for me, a blond tourist, but when I walked to the market, it was nice. People are friendly and you get to experience the local lifestyle. After seeing this, you should go and visit the Copti church, it is nearby.

Well, the markets and place might be a little bit exotic for new people to Egypt, but there is nothing special really about the place. Not recommended for people who know Egypt well and who visited Egypt many times before ... only good for the new people to Egypt who want to take a sense of the lifestyle of the... More

We went to Dahhar from Gouna by a very cheap bus, but actually when we arrived there we didnt know what to do! The place is mainly a market for veggies and fish. There's also a big mosque and a big church. We tried to reach the sea side but we couldn't, it's blocked by hotels and clubs so we... More

El Dahar is the locals shopping district. There are Mini Markets that sell thing a lot cheaper than you would get at your hotel or surrounding area of your hotel. If you are looking for diners, bars etc then this isn't the place for you you should be further down the road at Sheraton Road, where this is more for... More
