We didn't really like this part, there were too many salespeople that were trying to convince us to buy something and we didn't really feel nice when they were nagging us to go to their store.

Old part of Hurghada( or original part of city). Give your self 3 to 4 hours to take this place in. There are 3 prices here 1 - Egyptian price (locals) Cheapest. 2 - Wise tourist price(tell them you live here) but be prepared to say where and how long, and have a conversation. Middle range 3 - Naïve tourist... More

Definitely worth visit! I love this part of Hurghada, especially the food market. I like its smell, I like its system of food selling, I like everything it offers. Ok maybe I'm obsessed with it, but it's worth going there. I wish I could live there.

Dahar is tbe "original" Hurghada and existed as a fishing village long before tbe area was 'discovered' by mass tourism. I live here and I adore the place. It has everything I need. For the religiously minded it's littered with mosques and is also home to the Coptic cathedral of St Shenouda. A few years ago the old cathedral was... More

Might not be a touristic place to visit, yet it has lots of shops, services areas (like domestic bus terminals) and even a cinema. Well, if you have enough time, it might be good if you payed a visit just to feel that you visited most of Hurghada.

We always make a point if going here when in hurghada,it is ,in parts very traditional,in other parts, the usual fake brand t shirts etc,no pubs,or mainstream restaurants,so do not expect McDonald's etc, however,we still enjoy a walk around the area.

it’s down town of HURGHADA you can find all the city services like car service , not resort shops and you are out of resort mode
