If you are looking for diners, bars etc then this isn't the place for you you should be further down the road at Sheraton Road, where this is more for... More

A very vibrant local centre, with many chances to speak to real Egyptians. It may get very tiring, however, as you are being approached every 7 metres to buy something... Great for learning about Egyptian life - it is very poor and often dirty.

If you don't feel like having lots of shop keepers aggressively trying to get you into their shop then don't bother doing down to El Dahar. Its a small place so there isn't much to see anyway.

Please respect the locals and wear clothes which cover your knees and elbows. This is how they treat you with more respect. And haggle in every point and don't give up! You can easily get 70-50% off the price with a little effort. Visit the local grosery shop - the prices for locals are unbelievable cheap but dont expect that... More

The old centre of Hurghada called Dahar is about 15 minutes drive by taxi (do not negotiate about the price with the taxi driver, just give him 20 Egyptian pounds and get away of the car). I cannot describe Dahar as nice but if you are interested how the local people really do live and want to experience the the... More

its better to buy things in dahar because of price and also variety. there is a souk there that is big and fun to go to. just dont get ripped off buying fake saffron in the spice markets. sand beach in dahar is nice also.
