The best spent money, but 1 hour at this island is not enough, so try to go for longer than that. You can snorkel there, just take good suncream.

Booked through Book Tours Egypt, we had an amazing day out snorkeling on and near Giftun Island (the big one). The staff on the boat, the video and photographic crew and divers were A* helping my daughter and I one-on-one as we had never done this before. The Red Sea is beautiful anyway due to the clear water and the... More

Best part of the beach I have seen in Hurghada the sand is softer then on the mainland and the sea clear and warm. Really good to see the fish swimming clearly when snorkelling.

just remember you are dropped off for an hour in the midday sun, other than that the water is clear and warm.

A lovely beach with white sand. Brilliant for snorkelling. May see dolphins, although we didn't. Great crew with an underwater cameraman to record the days.

Worth visiting, very clean sand and water. Boattrip with great views on the Hurghada coastline. A funny day relaxing on the boat and on the beach!

If you do go to the red sea coast around Hurghada then you must arrange a day trip to Giftun, crystal clear waters and one of the best beaches available.Breath taking scenery. Your trip will be by boat (for those of you who haven't been before) this usually includes a meal and sometimes drinks, just confirm what is included when you... More

Wonderful place to visit and great snorkelling, but more people than a shopping centre on a Sat afternoon (and I never go shopping!). They really should develop a process for limiting the number if boats/people at any one time. Tourists might even pay a little more for the benefit of a bit more exclusivity?
