Day boat trips are great fun and give visitors and locals the chance to switch off from city life - usually there are 3 or 4 stops to swim, dive or fish, plus lunch on board and some time ashore on Mahmya. You do need to shop around for a good deal, but that's half the fun of being in... More

One of the nicest stretches of water to swim along, amazing clear beaches with just one small adoquat restaurant. We have spent many separate days here over the years and love it. Great for lazy days but if your with a group of people take a ball have a kick around as there is a pitch scratched out of the... More

This was lovely day out. Great for a relaxing day of doing nothing except sunbathing and snorkeling. The snorkeling was great, the beach area clean and the food was really nice with drinks included with the meal. Took about an hour to get there by boat and on the way back the sun was setting so it was a bit... More

It is a gorgeous sandy beach, with a lovely rustic looking restaurant set back a bit from the water. A nearly 2hr coach drive from Soma Bay as we called at 4 other hotels to pick up other visitors. The boat trip is 1 hr 15mins, not too bad, but it means that you do nearly 7 hrs travel to... More

Nice island to chill and relax by swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. A little dirty beach, because many people leave their trash.

Paradise an hour away from our hotel. Fantastic snorkelling and a beautiful beach. We very nearly went twice in one week!

Been to Mahmya Island approx 5 times, the last time was 8 years ago. What's changed? The island still appears almost as pristine, with a few added extras, new loo's, sitting areas. We had shelter from the sun and rush mats to sit on. I'd been told there was seating now. Not so. Only seating is attached to the bar... More

The water is so turquoise that you can see the fishes in the reefs from outside the water! On our way to the island we saw dolphins who followed the wake of the boat for a bit. It really is priceless seeing wild dolphins play! The beach had gorgeous tiny shells on it and it felt like a luxury secluded... More
