If you are in Egypt, visit Abu Simbel. We did the cruise down the Nile the drove to Abu Simbel from Aswan. It takes about 3 hours to get there and you have to get up about 3am to catch the bus but it was well worth it. You'll get back by early afternoon. When we got there we were... More

I did the morning tour from aswan- flying in and out on egyptair. an early start as you the plane is at 6.55am but well worth it as it is stunning. You get about 2 hours there- just enough. Otherwise you cld stay at a hotel there- the Seti being very close. This is a site you MUST do and... More

We cruised from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back in a week on MS Prince Abbas having spent a week on the Nile first on MS Hamees with Voyages Jules Verne. Arriving by boat is definitely the way to appreciate your first views of Abu Simbel. We arrived in the afternoon, went to the sound and light show in the... More

After multiple trips to Egypt this is still the place that sticks out in my mind... It is absolutely the most fantastic site and I recommend visit Abu Simbel to anyone that will listen... It's out of the way, you have to pay extra for the tour and it takes a while to get there but I would have paid... More

There are two temples at Abu Simbel: the temple of Ramesses II and the temple of Queen Nefertari. We flew in and out from Aswan and only stayed approx 2 hours. It was enough to see both temples. It is truly amazing to see them and the process that was undertaken to move them due to the High Dam in... More

If you are in Egypt go here! Remember that this temple was cut from rock and then moved to save it! More

We sailed from Aswan on the MS Prince Abbas and visited other temples on Lake Nasser, on the way there and on the way back. We had a glorious view approaching the two temples over the water, and stayed two nights at Abu Simbel. The temples are really awe-inspiring, especially when you realise they have been moved stone by stone... More

We visited this following a cruise on Lake Nasser - The cruise finished at Abu Simbel – approaching these from the lake gives a true impression of just how impressive these would have been some 4,000+ plus years ago – emphasising the message from Ramses of just how great he was and in total control of the area! A must for at least one visit. If transferring from Ashwan an early and long coach ride although flying saves a few hours. More
