I have went to showboat early this summer and my room was filthy. There was wine spilled all over the carpet, half of the lights didn't work, and room service doesn't come every day. It's location was the best thing about the hotel. It was the cheapest hotel on the boardwalk. No surprise that this place closed down.

We found the hotel to be a great place to stay. One night when it began to get so loud in our hallway that we couldn't sleep, a simple call to security (who were very pleasant!) solved the problem within minutes. We thought the buffet was a great value for the price. Dessert dessert and more excellent dessert! The price... More

We were here for a convention. The heads of the convention paid a lot of money for this event, the showboat was not helpful with set up and pre event objectives. the lobby escalator and public areas were filthy . The bar on the first floor had a great special drink sale going on , most of us went there.... More

When we heard the Showboat was closing down at the end of August, we wanted to see it one last time. The casino is really showing it's age - everything looks dirty or in need of repair. Obviously there is no need for maintenance when the operation is going to shut down. It's too bad - this is the first... More

I did book as a last minute deal but for the descent price it had the ideal location, on the boardwalk. The casino was quiet which leads to me to believe that not much action is happening. In fact, it's was a Friday night and .4 out of 4 casinos in this area were quiet and not crowded. The room... More

Showboat was okay. I would have given it 3 stars, but the fact that the carpets were so dirty - in the hallways, there was q-tips on the floor. I found cigarettes behind a curtain in the hallway as well! Dude, people should clean...... Also, the front desk lied. I called a week earlier to ask how many rooms they had... More

Typically I don't like to "kick someone when they're down," but just in case anyone got a great deal and was thinking about a last minute trip, read this first. Showboat will be closing their doors on August 31st 2014, and I don't know if they are closing because it was terrible, or if it was terrible because they are... More

This is big, just walking through is an exercise. The hotel is OK but rigged for gamling, which means you is supposed to pay for. Deasent prices.
