This is the best beach in the Santa Marta area. Here are some tips on getting the most out of it. 1. Don't go there with a tour. Not necessary and over-priced. 2. Get a taxi to Rodadero Beach. From there, walk to the far right where the boats are and get a round-trip boat ride to Playa Blanca. It's... More

We got a slow ferry from Cartagena, which took a while, but the ride was enjoyable and went via the nearby aquarium. We were offered and paid for snorkelling in advance of getting to the beach for 10,000COP. When we arrived, there was some dubious equipment which leaked and was bodged together. No fins in sight. Key thing is that... More

nice beach, a bit crowded, not easy finding a restroom, or facility. A little development of this beach could make it a gem.

The beach itself is amazing- clear blue waters, very clean, fine white sand. I'd love to revisit with my own snorkelling gear and find somewhere a bit secluded to chill out. The only problem is the amount of times people are trying to sell stuff. It's not as bad as some people were saying but it's difficult to relax fully.... More

when you are in Rodadero many people ask you if you want to go the playa blanca. don't do it. it is nothing special and the beach is overcrowded. you have to take a boat to get there and its price was 10.000 cop. anyway.. I will never do it again

A human zoo on a Sunday! Not at all pristine. Snorkeling only in one small place. Fish not special compared to other places and visibility poor. Food expensive. We got ripped off by a friendly fellow who pretended to be a waiter. Took our order and money in advance. Food never came so we asked about it several times (the... More

Get there early as it can get hot and/or crowded. When not in the water, we spent our time on the upper deck of one of restaurants at the beach. We had a delicious lunch there and the best seats on the beach. I enjoyed the little boat ride over. The water was a gorgeous color and so clear that... More

We did some snorkelling and I was amazed at the number of plastic bags, plastic plates and forks and what-not that were littering the bottom of the sea. The beach was also littered with people selling things and we got badly sick from the food we ate at the local restaurant. I would never go back there.
