Another good beach

What can I say, cool beach, good sand, restaurants, drinks, water and sun. If you're in Santa Marta, put it on your list to tan or relax and cool off.

it sits in a cove between Santa Marta and Rodadero. You have to take a boat to get there and come back. They leave around 8am and return about 4pm. Plenty of time to enjoy the sand sand surf. Boat come in all sizes and prices. Haggle for the best price. The smaller boats can be kind of scary if... More

I have never been to a beach with its own police station before! lts full of beach salesmen which can be a pain and beware the oyster man who tries to charge London restaurant prices. At weekends it is heaving and noisy fun but the setting is gorgeous and once the day trippers leave about 3pm it is calmer.

We stayed in a cabana with no electricity and it was beautiful . We took lots of water and dry foods and had our unhealthy dinners by candle light in the sand ( inside the cabana ! :D ) . We later discovered a huge crbp hole under our bed which explained the random thuds in the night . The... More

So this little gem is easy reach from cartagena and santa marta north colombia. It is on the caribbian coast and doesn't disappoint not he white sand and turquoise waters! plenty of cheap accommodation right on the beach. worth a day or one or two night visit. down side, the beach although beautiful is narrow and can be crowded (i'd... Stopped for the day from a cruise ship and really enjoyed it. The local mayor had put police on every junction to ensure everyone felt safe and the local people could not have been more happy to meet us. Shops, shops, shops!!

50k copas to get there in a tiny stinky fishing boat, lunch was 70k copas for the same meal I had in Santa Marta for 14k (not an exaggeration). We went there to avoid being harassed at the regular beach, and while it was better we were still solicited every few minutes. Water is gorgeous and there are no waves.... More

Other reviews talk about this place being too touristy. Don't listen. As long as you don't go over the weekend you will be fine. I stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. A simple "no gracias" and the pushy vendors will be on their way. Do not accept "free things" or "demonstrations" as they will try make u... More

Basic beach and poor food. I expected more and to be true this was not the first disappoitment in beach in area. Taganga was not better and a drug scene. Tayrona too long a walk for too little. Still in search of these great Santa Marta beaches people talk about....

Overpriced if coming on a tour (we paid 50,000 col pesos coming from a Cartagena hostel El Viajar). I think there are ways to get there by public bus which is a tenth of the price - do your research. Lovely sandy beach with turquoise sea, but a ruined by a stream of touters/sellers coming past you pestering you to... More
