5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2014 NEW

Stayed for two nights (which felt like the perfect amount of time) in December 2014. Stayed in one of the panoramic rooms where the views were amazing, saw birds, butterflies and monkeys. Was nice having all food provided, and was good to see some veg on the plate after other reviews said otherwise. Staff were all nice and helpful, and... More

If you like nature and adventure, travel to Rio Claro with friends and family. Just 3 hours by car from Medellin. Very nice place to swim, dive and have fun. It's better for adventure travelers. Try going from Monday through Friday, because on weekends ther will be a lot of people.

We stayed for 3 days at the panoramic rooms. They were wonderful. Far away from the restaurant so if you don't like to walk and climb stairs, wouldn't recommend the "refugio" cabins. The forest and river are really amazing and well taken care of. The food was a bit plain... Could be better. If you like peace and privacy do... More

Ok not exactly thick Amazon jungle but a wonderful location, good accommodation, simple but clean and perfectly placed along the Rio Claro. Enough activities to kill a few days however the meals were a little hit and miss considering the ingredients available. Not too many mosquitos, hardly bitten. Highlight was hiring the inner tubes and floating down the river. For... More

I have visited Rio Claro on two separate occasions and loved it each time. Do not expect a luxurious hotel, that is not what this place is about. Go to the website and do some research before reserving a room. There are several options available. I enjoyed staying in the open air room (although it is true that we had... More

Off the main roads you will find this beautiful piece of tranquility. The river flows fast, but is warm enough to swim in - with care; the birds and butterflies are beautiful, and we whiled away a very peaceful afternoon sitting on the rocks by the river. There are many adventurous activities available, but we chose to relax. The accommodation... More

We enjoyed the stay and had three nights here. We were situated a long way from the reception but so what as we were there to enjoy the river and open air. They should offer fresh fruit as an alternative but the service was mainly fine, the girl running the activities was a bit abrupt hence only four stars. however... More

We were travelling in Colombia on a birding trip with Ecoturs. Rio Clara was included in our trip, because there is a cave on the opposite bank with Oilbirds, which fly out at dusk. In fact, there is a site close by where you can see Oilbirds in a large cave during the day, so there is no need to... More

If you wanna explore Colombian ecotouristic places where rivers are amazing you must come to Rio Claro. You'll find yourself in the middle of tropical forest, calm and the relaxing sound of the river. You can find different activities to enjoy from the most calmed (hiking tours) up to spelunking, rafting and canopy. The cabanas have an spectacular view, and... More
