it was not as good as some said, but this small botanical garden is a pleasant place. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a train ride (we have a 2 year old son), but the iguanas running free in the park were worth the trip.

After Turibus left us in the University Station we went to the Botanical Garden. The Orchids were observed as dry and sad watching..I am so sorry it is only my opinion.

Had quite high expectations of this place .... If you do go... Its just a normal park?? With a small pond in it ?! Maybe nice for a short walk around but I 100% would not go out of your way to visit....

We had a beautiful time visiting the botanical gardens. The orchids were in bloom, the stag horn ferns were gorgeous, and the variety of palms was stunning. It's not a mind blowing garden but we did catch turtles, iguanas, birds and butterflies. Plan a stop on the way up the cable car, it's right off the metro which is very... More

The Botanic Gardens are easily reached by Medellin Metro exiting at the Universidad station. The grounds are very well maintained and include a nice Butterfly enclosure amongst other well-thought through exhibits.

The jardin is free so one might as well go but it's much more of a park than a garden. Many of the plants were dry and only two of the orchids were in bloom - this may be due to the current drought being experienced by the country. The garden isn't very big so it can be done in... More

I took my family to Jardin Botanico de Medellin last year and we walked around and spoke about the history of the location. And how much it has changed. But the one great thing they have there is a butterfly house. Colombia has some of the largest verieties of butterflies in the world, and the largest also. Then one big... More

This is a park for the people. A lively place for a walk, and a wander. This park is free and although it may be limited on the educational side as far as botanical gardens of the world, it is a lovely well cared for park and garden.

We went to the botanical gardens after hearing they were pretty average, and I have to say... Our friends were right. It feels like you are in a park not a botanical garden. The pond had some sucks, turtles and fish. We found one squirel and a iguana in a tree but apart from that there is a orchid garden... More
