Next to the University of Antioquia, the garden is large and quiet with beautiful trees and plants. It is very pleasant to spend one hour walking mourned there. I was not expecting that in Medellin. There is a restaurant at the entrance serving casual food, and a very good restaurant inside with very good food in a nice building.

A beautiful place to take a rest and enjoy the birds singing. Butterfly farm is free and quite interesting. Also massive dragon lizards walking around. Nothing much is in English. There is alot to do around this park so maybe have lunch here

Every time in Medellín we make it a point to visit the Jardín Botánico. It is a quiet oasis in the midst of a noisy and sometime frenetic city. The last visit was on a Sunday. In the past we have always visited during the week. On Sunday the Jardín is filled with families and groups of friends picnicking and... More

Don't try to use the little train- uncomfortable and unreliable. The butterfly house is also good, but small. But the main attraction are the orchids.

Enjoyed the flora and the butterfly house. The lagoon featured many birds and iguanas. Amazing this is free, great offering by the city.

The "Jardín Botánico" is a place to chill out and relax, it is important to have some time to walk around. The "Mariposario" is an incredible place to admire and photograph the butterflies. The "Orquideorama" is a BEAUTIFUL place, I was expecting more orchids... but still a recomendable place. In the place is a restaurant called In Situ, such a... More

The gardens aren't anything to write home about except maybe for the few Iguanas wandering around. We went thinking it would be a nice way to escape the heat but didn't end up staying long. If you do decide to make the trip, the Pedro Gomez art museum is only about 1km up the road which helps to make it... More

Medellin certainly has it together. There seems to be a lot of investment in the right things in this city, and the botanical gardens is one of those things. As soon as we entered, there was a city sponsored meditation session, with at least 100 people chilling, while an instructor led them into some deep relaxation. I mean, how cool... More

It sounds exotic and wonderful...it's not. The butterfly enclosure (which is the size of a bedroom) was the most eventful part of our visit. They have an orchid area...which I was really looking forward to seeing...but they had apparently rented it out to a private party and we couldn't go in. I left with a few pictures of butterflies and... More
