Medellín has a lot of beautiful things that made the city a real jewel. I was thinking the Botanical garden would be the same. It's a nice green place in the middle of the civilization for a peaceful walk. But the lake is dry, the walks are dirty (I think is people fault), there are a lot of tents for... More

We went here at a stop on Turibus (see separate review). I was amazed at the number of varieties of palm trees there are. Enjoyed the butterflies. A very nice walk. The gift shop has ice cream and I loved the mandarina flavor (tangerine)

Great restaurant in Park. The gardens were more like a huge park with many picnics and family parties. Not much information regarding the plants.

my favorite part of Medellin! Nature is amazing, has a very pleasant cafeteria with outside seating, the infrastructure is impressive, has a nice giftshop with local crafts. While I was there, they had a huge book fair.

Great display during the flower festival, otherwise a little lackluster for botanical gardens. Needs some sprucing up.

A nice enough park but a little crowded and poorly upkept. Many plants look terribly withered. Clearly the vegetation in and around more commercial places in the vicinity has more attention though admittedly botanic gardens are not cheap to run! Nice enough for a romantic stroll to get away from things, but don't expect much solitude or the gentle waft... More

Try to visit it during Orchids, Birds and Flowers or anytime except 1 week before as they are preparing the Event and unfortunately we did not see the orchids :(, and some places open after 13 hrs, we were very dissapointed; the train was out of service, was not easy to visit if for some reason (back pain for example)... Even though the Orchid exhibit was closed for renovation, I loved the Jardin Botanico! It's a lovely place to wander and a peaceful refuge with the lake, rainforest, and desert all having their own unique characters.
