If you're considering going to Islas de Rosario, you're in for a short but enjoyable trip. The islands are simple dots in the ocean with many unfinished homes/hotels, however, the nearer you get to the Acuario, finished hotels become the prominent feature. If you're looking for a secluded get away, the islands will offer you just that, but be aware... More

This is a bit deceiving because this is mosty about Playa Blanca specifically. I went with a friend to Playa Blanca and spent 2 nights there. We bought a ticket on a motor boat that took about an hour to get to Playa Blanca. Most boats leave in the morning around 9 or 10 am. We only paid for the... More

The beach is Ok.But too much vendors want to sell you everything in one time. The speedy boats on island are horrible. My husband was throw in the air ,when we crushed the big ocean wave and almost broke his spine. He spend 7 days in bed with pain killers pills. The staff from boat have no English at all and no responsibility for... We went with a tour..lots of people. It's pretty touristy. They stopped first at this little island. Locals trying to sell you stuff but not obnoxious. Then some sight seeing. Real pretty water. The best thing was the aquarium. Lots of fish. Then to this island for lunch which wasn't good at all. My wife and I feel asleep in... More

Cartagena's beaches are not the nicest, brown sand and brown water because the ocean is mixed with water from the rio Magdalena, but the 45 min. trip to Las Islas Rosario or Baru gives you the oportunity to see white sand beaches and snorkel in christal clear water More

There are many options for going to the beaches on Islas del Rosario and you must choose carefully. We spent one day at Islas del Elencanto and I do not recommend that setting, but the snorkeling on that trip was superb. The facilities at the "Hotel" (which is really a hostel) are not particularly nice. The beach is tiny and... More

This is a OK beach. What is the best is the local folks that sell food. We had grilled lobster and it was the best we ever ate. The furniture at the hotel is outdated and needs updating. They also need to repair the retaining wall along the beach. More
