We stopped here at the beginning of Dora's tour of Cartagena. Charming old building, lovely courtyard with bougainvillea everywhere. Wonderful view of Cartagena.

Pay some Chiva to make a city tour and visit La Popa, you will be able to see the whole city, it's the highest point of the city, nice to take panoramic pictures!

Tour guides do a great job at explaining all the different historic information about the different parts of the convent. The ride up to La Popa is nice. I believe this is the highest point to see Cartagena. Great panoramic views. The Convent itself has several nice spots for pictures. Clean bathrooms are available also.

Congested at the top but worth the trip- the best way to see the city, including slums, high rises condos, fortresses, beaches and Shakiira's new school for children

Tremendous view! Get a taxi ride up to Popa. Walk around the patio of the convento. Panoramic view of the whole city. Have the taxi to wait and take you on to the castle. With several people it does not cost as much.

The colours of the flowers in the cloister is my strongest memory of this place which is on a hill above Cartagena. I very much recommend coming here to enjoy the view at sunset.

Beautiful views and only $9,000 pesos for adults. Only a quick drive but you will need to study a map first since the path includes several back streets. If anything follow the taxis and tour buses. VERY IMPORTANT : USE GOOGLE NAVIGATOR. Trip advisor map is absolutely wrong. Neighborhood is fine to drive through since so many other people are... More

I visited this location on a tour where the cost to enter was already baked into the overall price. The convent has an interesting history and a great view back toward Cartagena where you can se why the Spanish coveted this location so much. However, when we were leaving the convent, I noticed the price to enter and it was... More

Yes, the Convento is on a high mountain overlooking the city, and there are views in all directions including the vast harbor of Cartegena. The Convento itself is also interesting, especially the cloisters and the gold alter piece. Well worth the trip up there.

This place is located away from the walled city upon a hill past a pretty sketchy-looking, poor, neighborhood. Just get a taxi from your hotel to take you up and wait for you outside. think it was about 20 mil pesos. Nice historical church and awesome view, to capture the whole of Cartagena.
