Very good experience. We were told by the booking agency only to take a towel, cap, costume. But you need to take some cash. The locals give you a massage in the mud and the lake afterwards and it would have been nice to support the community. More

It is fun to visit once in a lifetime. Lots of mud, poor facilities. After diving in the mud, a woman washes the mud out of you with a very powerful hose and that's it. More

It was hilarious and I was highly dubious about doing it. Nothing quite like seeing people coming down from the top stepping gingerly on a rickety staircase, all of them covered in slippery mud. A once in a lifetime experience- but not to be missed. Take a costume and cover up you don't mind getting flilthy with the mud! More

If you come here, don't expect a natural wonder. This thing is basically a big pile of mud, where you can hop into. If you know, what to expect and come in a group, it's fun. You should not be afraid of or uncomfortable with people touching you! And, nothing is included, every "service" is extra! That said, when you... More

Diving into the grey, squishy mud in a live volcano - insane! Massaged and rubbed by some locals then washed down in the nearby lagoon - I felt like a new woman! The best bit was being suspended as if weightless in the mud! I came with a guide who organised tipping the locals - I'm not sure how I... More

For those of you who don’t seem to understand it is a way of life for the people of Colombia, for measly $5.00 U.S. you get a “mud” massage, someone taking pictures of you getting all covered in mud then a lady washes you completely. In Canada where I am from people pay hundreds of dollars for just the mud,... More

We arranged this trip via our hotel. The mud bath part was good fun - a little disconcerting as it gets quite crowded at the top, but certainly an experience. Had the day ended there it would have been fine, However, some tour organizers feel that they need to extend the day via a further tour to a VERY non-descript... More

Wasn't sure what to expect. You walk up a flight of stairs to a "pool" of mud. Hand your camera to a guy, who unbelievably takes dozens of great pictures for 2000 pesos (get pesos, because they charge you a crazy exchange rate for dollars) ... a man slathers you with mud, then pushes you over to receive an unbelievably... When you arrive someone will take your camera and take photos for you ($3000) then a man in the mud will attempt to massage you. I said no several times and even moved away. Their 'massage' is just rubbing mud on you.($3000) You then go to the water to wash the mud off and a lady will come with a... More
