WOW....we had a really good time at Cafe Havana!! Go early if you want a table. Early is 9:30-10:00pm. The live music was fantastic. I don't speak Spanish but it didn't matter cause good music has no language barriers. The mixed drinks are lousy so it is best to order beer or shots of liquor. There is a cover charge... More

We went here as it was highly recommended. On arrival we were asked to hand over an entrance fee. We asked if we could take a look inside before departing with our cash and were firmly told no! After much pleading they allowedme in but not my husband but wouldn't let me go furtherthan the entrance canopy. Based on this... More

I had big expectations for this place. I love to dance salsa and particularly enjoy cuban salsa. We arrived at Cafe Havana at 9:45 pm. There was a 12,000 (PP) cover which I don't have any problem paying if there is live music. We paid the cover and headed it. The bar was half empty and there was no band... More

Cafe Havana gave me mixed feelings. On one hand I loved the music, and I loved the Mojitos. The door man said the band was a Salsa band. However, they played everything from Cuban Son, to Salsa. This place is an excellent live music venue, good sound quality for a venue that size, and I cannot say enough good things... More

Locals were turned away at the door; we couldn't tell if this was because of the cover charge or just discrimination. The club is filled with tourists so don't plan on any local culture or learning salsa moves from people who REALLY know how to dance. Drinks are bad and overpriced, wait staff is rude. We were told the band... More

This place gets crowded, rocks so get there early if you want to dance or there is no room once the band starts. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the authentic Cuban band. A bit crowded but great atmosphere, we'd hit Macondo for 2/1 drinks and early dance show at 8, to Cafe Havana til the band started (too crazy after... More

Located near various hostels and bars in the heart of Getsemi lies a little jewel of spot named Cafe Havana. This was one of the first and most memorable locations we visited while in Cartagena. Cafe Havana has an old school vibe, with classic salsa tunes played by an awesome live house band, and more than enough willing partners waiting... More

Small cover charge. Band started at 11:45 pm. Started getting a bit crowded around 10:30 pm. Mojitos a little pricey but strong--two of them are enough to get most people going. Great, fun atmosphere. Not open every night, so check.
