Just a big shopping center

This is not a temple like the name suggested, unless you worship god of shopping. The inside is traditional but it's just a big shopping center where you can find anything. This place is full of Chinese buyer on weekend with plenty of bag and clothing you can choose. Do haggling in Chinese, haggle hard, with smile and hug ;)... More

Frankly speaking: several years ago ChengHuangMiao was much more "Chinese" then now. That time it was super crowded but more authentic then today. However, I still like it to go there with friends and shop some small gifts for friends back home. ChengHuang Temple is just of the opposite of TianYi GuangChang (you have to use the passage underground), so... More

The pagoda was nice, but the view just looks out onto the city. The shopping was very similar to that of many typical markets. I didn't find that the sellers were willing to bargain as much as I have found at other markets selling similar items.

I was fortunate to visit the Temple on the public holiday of 11 Sept. Mid-Autumn "moon-day" Mainly 1,000's of local visitors and the size of everything was amazing. Definitely worth a visit

It's a must see place for tourist, with the feel of real China, but for me who lived in Ningbo for many years, it's an overcrowded area, so not a place for a relaxing stroll on Sundays. But I do love their street snacks, make me feel like locals.

Place of worship for Buddhist practioners around the world. Ningbo is just 2 hours car ride from Shanghai.

You can find any type of clothes in this market. The prices vary a lot. You have to know how to bargain, otherwise you will be ripped off. The quality of the products vary as well. Interesting experience. I first time I was there without knowing how to count I couldn't buy anything because I understood that I'll be paying... More

I loved this area of Ningbo, especially mixing with all the locals! The goods you can buy here are cheap and it is a great place to find some small gifts for family and friends. Soak up the atmosphere of the Temple, try some of the local food that is cooked mainly in the small street between the buildings. P.S... More

Good for browsing but examine the quality of goods - usually sub-standard. But prices are super cheap and you can still bargain!
