A range of fun at a range of prices.

We visited with our 1.5 year old from 5-7:30pm on a Saturday evening and, at those times, we were the only Western tourists there. This place has something for everyone, but... read more

We visited here while friends were in town. We went during the day mid-week. It was pretty dead, but the buildings and some of the various artworks around are interesting. I've been separately in the evening and many more people were present. Its basically a variety of coffee shops and bars/pubs with a few restaurants. There is an IMAX theater... More

This Taoist temple is nice with many beautiful buildings and statues.you can also have a therapist project given to you based on a stick that you take from a cup. I still have the paper and it was fun! The best part about this temple is how many local people hang out there. There is a tea pavilion where you... More

This is Chinese Industrial Heritage. A 1950's television tube factory opened by Mao that has been tastefully re-used as a recreational area. There is not a great deal too see but there are a lot of music bars and frequent musical events that happen in the evening so I suggest that this is the best time to visit. There is... More

We visited with our 1.5 year old from 5-7:30pm on a Saturday evening and, at those times, we were the only Western tourists there. This place has something for everyone, but probably only for 2 hours or so. Lots of bars, cafes, dessert shops - good place for a romantic date or for hanging out with friends. There is a... More

The factory here used to make tubes for television set and has been turned into an art and music area. We went during the day and it wasn't too crowded on a Sunday in August. Great place for photos. A few fun souvenir shops with different things than all the other souvenir shops in China. They also have an IMAX... More

This park has nothing to boast about. If you haven been to Beijing 798, this place is something similiar except that there are performances, cinema, bars and lots of shops. Freaking crowded during weekends.

The Chengdu East Music Park is based on an old TV tube factory! It is now a weirdly wonderful collection of Art Galleries, bars, restaurants and boutique shops. I first went there to help in an Art students' movie - they wanted a foreigner to play the part of a priest in a wedding ceremony. All good fun and was... More

This area has plenty of bars ranging in a very eclectic styles of music but the pleasure of not fighting the crowds as much comes with that price tag.

Chengdu Eastern Music Park is not a main attraction in Chengdu, but a recommended place to hang out. The location is a bit far from city center. The park is used to be factories area back in the days, now they still preserved the factories layout and make small shops, cafes, and restaurant (which is kinda unique concept).. A nice... More
