The memorial is actually really good, well designed and built. The area provides a a good spot for an excellent picture with the new town in the background. Other than that, not a lot going on. The standard photographers begging to take a picture of you (at a price). I thought the view was better from the Olympic sailing centre.... More

Our hotel was 10 minute walk from here. We stopped by around sunset as a last stop before going back to the hotel. There was a nice big lawn next to the red scultupre. We even bought a kite (RMB15) from the vendor and that kept us entertained for a good half hour! I liked that everyone was doing their... More

I was glad to see the square again this time, but from above. I remember being here a few years ago, but it's much better to come at night with all of the lights and people around. I had a great view of it from my hotel room, too. Recommended!

May 4th Square is very beautiful, high buildings around it. Nothing much to do, besides walking around. You can see the ocean, but smells pretty bad.

This was a to Qingdao, Shandong, China to negotiate a contract with a Chinese University in Qingdao. We were hosted at a dinner near the May Fourth Square which is on the beach at city centre, and had our pictures taken there at night. The Square is a lovely park in the centre of downtown and is used extensively by... More

This square is the heart of the city, and the structure of this square named the Wind of May, actually reflects the power and energy of this Harbour city. I love this place!

This park or square is right in the heart of the city near city hall (within walking distance). I visited this location on Father's Day and there was an interesting variety show with singing and dancing - all very interesting. The sculpture right in the heart of the park and theater is exactly what you see in the tourist promotion... More
