My friend recommended checking out an aquarium, but didn't say which one. This city has three! I didn’t know a city could have three!? I don't think this was the best one unfortunately, but the jellyfish were nice and they had one of those cool glass tunnels with the rays and sharks and turtles swimming around you. They also had... Unfortunately the place has seen better days. The areas were dirty and smelly and the static displays were very old and dirty. The tanks didn't look like they were well filtered, and we felt bad for the animals. One exception was the jellyfish room. I never knew there were that many different kinds of them.

After waiting 1 hour for a ticket, my husband and I were pushed into a room with about 200 other people... we were not able to get near the displays, so we sadly left before seeing anything.

It can be crowded, but good visit if you have kids in particular. Otherwise, its average relative to other underwater aquariums.

It is worth the entrance fee alone to stand on the moving walkway and travel through the underwater tunnel. There really is a lot to see here. I know many of the preserved specimens are a bit of an old fashioned way of displaying zoological information but the sheer scale of the exhibits are impressive. The signs are more often... More

Let's be honest here, when you are visiting China you are visiting a country that is still new in the entertainment industry, the way they manage parks in China is completely different than in the U.S , due to the fact that we have a bunch of regulations that protect animals, do not come with the idea that you are... Very patchy this place. Some exhibits are interesting others are in poor condition which was funny at first but got old quickly. The marine tunnel is excellent but some of the habitats for the larger sea mammals and marine life are not nice to see.

This aquarium is supposed to be the oldest in China and it is pretty big, covering a large area in several buildings and even running under the road. They have a good selection of fish but, as is common here, the tanks are often on the small side (especially for the mammals) and they love their garish lighting. The whole... More

I have been to both aquariums in Qingdao. This is the best. There is a great range of aquatic life and I particularly enjoyed the jellyfish tanks. We took two children with us aged 4 and 10. Their attention was maintained for the three hours we were there and they always had questions base don the exhibits. Very little of... More
