This is well worth a visit for the variety of fish life and the skeleton of a huge whale stranded locally. It will take several hours to visit as it is huge. Live whales, penguins, fish, jellyfish, coral...

the aquarium is a good option in qingdao. the fun starts with a museum of natural history before going to the aquarium. the sea water part is very nice with plenty of sharks, rays and big turtles around, as a comparison the sea salt water part looks larger than the one in Barcelona. very good way to spend few hours... Entrance feels that you are in a science/natural history museum with exhibits in glass jars and stuffed whales but once you have passed these you see live marine life. Travelator takes you through the main aquarium with rays and sharks swimming over your head, really cool. There was a show at the end and although I didn't understand what was... More

World-class aquarium. One of the best underwater exhibitions I have seen. It boasts the world's largest water column made of a single see-through acrylic material. It rivals such famous spectacles as the ones in California, New Zealand and Atlanta. The zillions of fish and marine creatures of all sizes challenges the imagination. It's a great place to take the kids,... More

There can be only one. Sea World that is and it resides in San Diego, CA. From the initial sight of wall to wall bio lab style formaldehyde bottled fish to my first stuffed Killer Whale sighting I was less than enthusiastic or impressed rather disgusted and bored. I will say this. The Chinese try and try hard but if... More

I really enjoyed this, much to my surprise, but I went on a quiet day. Later in my visit, I passed it on a bus and there were huge queues. The shark/ray tunnel was really excellent; the static/stuffed exhibits were interesting; there were a lot of strange fish and eels that I just hadn't seen in western aquariums. The gift... More

The Qingdao underwater world is showing its age with many old displays that need updating. The winter is not a good time to visit outside attractions. The summer would be a much better time to spend some time wandering the outside areas.
