Unfortunately I could only spend about 2 hours there but I could have easily spent a whole day. The exhibits span from about 5000BC to modern day. What an amazing collection of artifacts. I definitely recommend a visit. There is no entrance charges but make sure you have your identification to get in.

It is rare to see such professional and well done cultural institutions in China. This is the first Chinese museum which followed the international standards of museum technology and practice. You can learn the history of the region, Shandong, which is the birth place of the China civilization. If you can fit in half of the day here, it is... More

Situated in East Jinan, this magnificent modern state of the art building built in traditional style but with the latest in Hi Tech LED lighting and Photo Voltaic generation would be a great thing to visit. The fact that it has exhibits of magnificent traditional costumes, a wonderful collection of bronze artifacts, The Confucian exhibition alone is worth going for.... More

Better a really literate one so you can receive a better explanation of what are you seeing other wise there is a lack of information, anyway the exposure is great I loved many of the crafts exposed. A museum this big should have some recorded guidance so you can enjoy it better. I really liked pottery and new painting artists.

This new museum offers a great look at ancient Chinese art. There are galleries exhibiting ceramics, bronzes, statues, calligraphy, textiles and history. Although there isn't much English signage, the works are stunning. There is a good audio guide in English if you want a deeper context for the masterpieces you'll see. Admission is free if you present your passport or... More
